Galaxy Nexus or Galaxy S III? Anyone waiting?

Does anyone have any reasons to wait for the Galaxy S III ro go with Galaxy Nexus now? Looking to pick up Galaxy Nexus but would like to take advantage of Samsung's longer life battery initiative in the Galaxy S III.

The Galaxy S 3 will almost certainly be a better phone than the Galaxy Nexus.

In fact, it's debatable whether the Galaxy S 2 is better than the Galaxy Nexus. GS2 has a superior SoC, removable storage, superior camera. The main advantage of the Galaxy Nexus is the HD display and ICS, although the HD display is a pentile screen vs. non-pentile on the GS2. GS2 is getting the ICS update, so that negates that advantage. But if you simply must have ICS now, get the Nexus.

I hated the retrograde in camera and no removable storage on the Nexus, though liked everything else. Having to import made it a no brainer for the T989 and staying with T-Mobile.

Hopefully the GSIII is a non-pentile screen of the Nexus with better CPU's, 32-64GB of internal storage along with a microSD slot and 12mp cam with xenon flash.

All sounds about right. Galaxy Nexus is good but the best things about it are ICS and the screen, and soon ICS will be everywhere.

Really looking forward to better battery life with SGSIII.

I am currently using N1 and I'm not in a hurry to get GN. I may even hold out until the end of the year when the next Android/Nexus comes out - if my N1 is still working by then.

Couldn't wait. Sold Skyrocket, bought Gnex. Have not regretted it at all. Better resolution screen and IMO better colors representation.

Now when the S3 comes out, we will see how long I can hold out for that.

I think it depends largely on what you're looking for in a phone. If you're looking for the latest and greatest as far as processing speed and features go, the SGSIII will probably be worth the wait. However, if your looking for a pure Android experience, and want to always have the latest and greatest in software, go with the Galaxy Nexus.

I have the G Nex on T-Mobile (HSPA+) version and love it. The screen is just beautiful and knowing that my phone's software won't be outdated anytime soon (in the next 2 years) is nice. However, I might end up selling it when the SGS3 comes out. If you look back in time, every time Samsung releases a new generation of Galaxy phones they are the best out on the market and stay that way (arguably) for almost a year.

My opinion: GSIII is a better phone, but GN is a better value. A GSIIII is easily $600+ outright. A GN is available from Google Play in US for $399.

And I must say - once you've try Jelly Bean, you won't want to go back to any previous versions of Android.

New Nexi. There are reports that Google plans to release 5 different Nexus devices perhaps in November. I won't be surprised at all if Key Lime Pie is served up with them!

The Galaxy Nexus GSM will likely get Key Lime Pie shortly after the new Nexus phones are released. The SIII will probably get it too but will be a while since it has to go through cell providers. If you want a powerful GPU Nexus I'd recommend waiting till the Nexi are released. The GPU in the GNex is a bit dated it will handle most apps but struggles with some high end 3d apps, Google earth when in large cities in 3d will drag it down to a few FPS quickly.
