I hit my own record speed tonight:

Location: Victoria Park @ Tempo Ave (North York). Inside a former warehouse.
    Device: Samsung Galaxy S3 i747m
    ROM: Aristodemo's 09/17 "ASOP" S3 rom (AT&T leak, I think.)

I guess that's why they've finally condescended to offer us peasants an 'unlimited' plan? Although at $90/mo. its only practical value is if you think of it as a replacement for your home internet. I'm sure not giving up an ADSL or cable package to have all my network access ride around in my pocket.

I have registered an LTE SIM card and I confirmed today my data plan has been 'upgraded' to LTE- although they forced me to renew my contract for a YEAR to do it. WTF.

Yes, I *am* in an LTE coverage area according to Rogers tech support. Yes, my network settings are correct. So what's the problem here?

Remember that the Rogers version of the LG Optimus G only supports 2600 MHz LTE (of frequencies used in Canada at this time). You may not have LTE at that frequency in your area.

I am about 5 KM from this server in Burnaby.

I have "swept" a cell tower antenna.

    History:

    NovAtel portable. Nokia 232, Nokia 6100 analog/TDMA, Nokia 6310i, Nokia 6230B, Nokia 6682, Nokia N95 8G, Nokia N86 8G. I am now using a Motorola Atrix 4G.

Have you tried doing the test from different locations? Maybe even at different times.

We don't have LTE yet in Manitoba but even with 3G I'm told I should be seeing speeds between 5 & 10 mbps. At home I'm lucky to get 2 mbps.

No one's LTE sports voice just yet. Rogers, just like everyone else, falls back to 3g when a call takes place.

Has anyone else here tried sliding the 0M-20M speedometer down on their iPhone?

Has Rogers given up on lte expansion? At least in southern BC, bell and telus cover almost everywhere whereas Rogers barely covers Vancouver and Victoria.
