Phone Suggestions 4 ST in Greater Phoenix Metro Area

Thinking of Xperia Active, my only concern is the screen might be little small for moderate to heavy typing, I will be doing a lot of text/email for business. Going to do the $45 "unlimited" plan and maybe shell out the $500 for a year of service if it works well enough for my needs. Any suggestions for phones around or under ($300) that have enough juice to last a couple years before becoming outdated? Thanks in advance... LS

Also, are there any real difference between the Net10 ($50) unlimited and the ST ($45) plan?

Just the price and the fact that Net 10 can be refilled at most gas stations and quite a few other places. Straight Talk refills can only be gotten at Walmart or on the internet, but you can always use auto-refill.
