    Prescott Valley, AZ Coverage?

Does T-Mobile have coverage in Prescott Valley, AZ? We will be moving there sometime later this year and would like to hear who has usable service there. A local Tmo guy told me I would have 4G there as well. Do I believe him?

I called Tmo customer service line a few days ago to order another SIM kit, gave him my zip code and he said "oh yeah you got 4G everywhere". No we don't its GPRS and EDGE here.. guess they'll say you have 4G for any place.

As for your location, it appears to be the same

"Mobile web" stands for either GPRS or EDGE, hopefully its EDGE. Maybe there's a chance you'll get faster speeds soon.. really depends on how they're doing with the expansion of 3G/4G areas.

You made a similar thread in the Straight Talk forums, but here is what you have to ask yourself:

    1) Do you must have an Android phone?
    2) Do you use a lot of minutes?
    3) Are you willing to give up VM's 3G data speeds in return for better coverage on T-Mobile and AT&T? T-Mobile might likely have GPRS there which is painfully slow and AT&T should have EDGE which is faster but only good for basic web browsing.
    4) What's the most you're willing to pay for cell phone service?
    5) Are you more concerned with good coverage in Prescott Valley only or do you must have good coverage in the surrounding areas as well?

Personally, if I was in your shoes and was more concerned with having coverage and fast data speeds, I would stay with Virgin Mobile. If I needed good coverage in the surrounding areas and didn't mind slow data then I would go with Straight Talk and use the AT&T sim card. Verizon also has prepaid phones on Straight Talk, but they're basic flip phones, they don't offer Android. and while Verizon does offer prepaid on their own network (not Straight Talk) the prices are similar if not the same as those on contract, so IMHO if it were up to me, I would have stayed with VM for the faster data speeds.

Here is their coverage BTW, it actually looks quite decent, and I have found VM's maps to be more accurate than those of other carriers, though don't quote me on that.

Edit: Bingo, I found reviews of other people who live in that area, if that doesn't help then nothing apart from going there or talking to someone else who lives there will.

This is Patricia of Straight Talk. Yes, Prescott Valley, Arizona has a good coverage for T mobile as checked it on their coverage map locator. You may also check it on their website at www.t-mobile.com. Should you have further questions, feel free to email us at ST.CorpResolutionTeam@straighttalk.com. Thank you.
I do not rely on carrier maps as they are misleading. Who can believe what the carriers tell you anyway. I was looking for feedback from customers actual experiences.

    To the OP,
As Thecellphoneguy pointed out to you with those sites, Tmo and ATT both aren't going to have good speeds up there. I only recently switched to the ATT sim so I can't speak from having this, but I do know what when I had Sprint and we'd travel to Prescott, it was 1X or even roaming 1X onto VZW. My fiance's phone is through VZW and it works pretty well with 3G in most of the more rural areas in Arizona. As the site that was linked to by Thecellphoneguy, all the VZW reviews say they got good coverage.

You also have to realize it has some older Alltel reviews which were all pretty good too, since they are now a part of VZW. It's sad that Alltel was one of the few companies willing to build a decent rural area network and if you're going to live in that kind of area, be prepared to deal with VZW.

Pageplus has prepaid VZW for a fair price and you can bring your own device so you can find yourself a used Android or Iphone or anything really.
