Don't buy a cheap china phone...you will within the next month go and buy a 50$ phone as you will be able to actually send a text without getting frustrated with how terrible the touch screen is and how slow it is to move between screens, you get what you pay for, buying a cheap and nasty android will give you a terrible experience with the android system, the p500 (optimus one) is a great deal now, and its a great phone for the price.

    Good luck

Inspire is fine. Other options are ZTE Avail, LG Optimus One / Phoenix / Thrive, HTC Status, and some of the Sony Xperia phones just to name a few.

The LG Phoenix is nice. Good battery life.

AT&T Avail for between $130 and $140 new in box. It's a Go Phone device but it works with Straight Talk's AT&T-compatible SIM card.

Its the same for all Androids. If the APNs on the phone are locked, download APN Backup & Restore from the Market to delete them
    https://market.android.com/details?i...pRestore&hl=en
Then just create the APNs as listed on the red card ST gave you with the SIM
