Virgin Mobile to offer free VM and CID on all talk and text plans

What do you guys think? Nice to see another carrier (bell sub) follow Koodo and not increase by $5

    http://mobilesyrup.com/2012/02/13/vi...nd-text-plans/
    My Plan
    200 mins + 250 bonus mins = 450 mins + eve/wkds from 6pm + 6 GB data + Value Pack (CID/VM/2500 texts) + R2R + 100 Cdn Long distance mins + GRFF - credits = $39.35 before taxes

Yea saw this also, but they've taken away unlimited texting and replaced it with only 50 texts on. $5 extra if you want it unlimited, still saving $5 off if it was the old way where you had to pay caller id and vm for an extra $10 a month.

I tried to switch to this, and they told me you can't have these plans and the $30 6GB data plan, which is beyond silly.

Another small incremental step for us consumers! Sucks that they completely followed Koodo's latest move, I was hoping they'd leave unlimited texting on with CID and VM. In fact, I think this would have been smart of Virgin to have at least done it with their $50 plan. Although with iMessage, BBM, and apps like What's App it may not be that big of a deal these days though.

The big deal is that they're charging for text messages at all. At least cid is no longer being charged for

Sent from my Lumia 710 via the HowardForums WP7 App
Please don't PM me asking questions that could very easily be asked publicly.

Band I/1 = IMT, 2100 (rarely wrongly referred to as 1900/2100)
Band II/2 = PCS, 1900 (never wrongly referred to as 1800/1900)
Band III/3 = DCS, 1800 (never wrongly referred to as 1700/1800)
Band IV/4 = AWS, 1700 (often wrongly referred to as 1700/2100)
    Band V/5 = CLR, 850
    Band VIII/8 = GSM, 900

    The Rogers Lumia 710 only has 1, 2, 4, 5

also i have a 5 dollar discount due to me using my own phone. is this still available? because if i change my plan and thats gone theres no reason to change. would be the same price.

i Also Have the $5 Byop discount with talk and text 25 with the unlimited text option. I also Had the $10 Vm Cid Addon. I Called last night and had my text option switched to the VM/cid And Added The $5 text/mms Option, and Still Retained The Byop Discount. $5 Cheaper in The End!
