An autopsy on the 48-year-old singer - who was found dead in the bath of her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday (11.02.12) - has been completed and Los Angeles County Coroner officials have told her relatives that she did not drown. Sources told TMZ.com that the coroner did not find enough water in Whitney's lungs to suggest she died in the bath, but they believe her passing was a result of the combination of alcohol, Xanax and other prescription drugs she had taken. It is believed that Whitney's official cause of death will not be released for some time to allow police to complete investigations. A source told RadarOnline.com: ''The Beverly Hills Police Department has requested the Coroner's Office put the results on a 'security hold,' because it could hamper their ongoing investigation.'' Whitney's mother reportedly plans to have the singer's body flown back to Atlanta tomorrow (14.02.12) now the autopsy is complete.

Is it me or do certain people who achieve fame have a really hard time adjusting to it or after making a hard landing from their careers?
Kind of sad, that these artists from not too long ago would suddenly end up dead in this current span of time after laying low.

While, I'm not here to pass judgement on somebody's life or how they lived it, it seems like there's a trend here where with certain celebrities end up mixing prescription drugs with alcohol. The labels of any properly prescribed drugs clearly state that they should not be mixed with other medications and/or alcohol. I mean, I take the time to ask questions about dosage and read the labels when I receive prescribed medications.

I'm deeply saddened by this. Whitney had an incredible singing voice , but after the marriage to bobby brown anyone that was a fan on them both new the things to come & so it happened. After the initial bought of drugs, she did try again at her singing career but that golden gospel voice became a harsh raspy tone.

I find her use of drugs so tough to believe she hit into that especially being a mother with a very close family.
Rest with the angels on peace doll.

Ah, hearing stories like this really hurts. Drugs are a bad thing, I wish they never had to exist. Ruined so many great lives for sure. Seems like this is a recurring theme for entertainers..

It doesn't come as a shock to me. It seems like this is the only cause of death to celebrities these days. I don't know if they think they are invincable to the side effects and warning of medications/drugs or if they purposely leave this world selfishly not taking into consideration how many people love them. No one really knows what went on in their minds, all we know is that they have made such an impact on society and will be greatly missed.
