hello i was looking into buying the samsung galaxy s vibrant from bell or virgin but im not sure because i hear alot of bad stuff about that phone. the thing is im going to go on prepaid. so i would have to purchase the phone. but i really want this phone because its at a good price at virgin but again i heard some people complain that after a certain amount of incoming calls the person on the other line cant hear them and they have to call back the person and some other stuff, i know there is a gps issue with the phone but i also know theres a fix. im just not sure what to do. im wondering does ANYONE on here have a galaxy vibrant and can tell me if they have had any issues with the call quality or anything else. i was also looking at the nexus s but that phone is pretty old now and i dont want to invest so much in a phone that has been out for a long time. it is although still a good phone. but anyways not sure what to do, sometimes i just feel like getting a blackberry to avoid all of this nonsense. i want the vibrant but don't want to go with a cheaper phone that will come with alot of issues out of the box.
At which price can you get either the Nexus S or the Vibrant?
Spec-wise these phones are almost identical, with the Nexus having NFC and the curved glass.
The Vibrant has a MicroSD slot, the Nexus doesn't, but has 16GB of "internal" SD available.
The Nexus S might be easier to tinker with if you're into custom ROMs and such, since you don't normally have to deal with Kies and Odin.
The Nexus S is factory unlocked, the Vibrant is not, but can be unlocked for free. (Go check out how on XDA.)
Don't know about the call quality issues, I'll leave that one to others.
I have this phone it's been extremely reliable I haven't had one problem with it other than ****** battery life but that's probably because it's a year+ old. I had a blackberry bold before I had the vibrant and I didn't realize how limited blackberries are. I think you should go for this phone I'd give it a 9/10 and android has so much more possibilities than blackberry which imo is geared only towards email/txt/bbm.
But if I was you I'd get the SGS2 the price really isn't that different....
I agree with above...I've had my Vibrant for about 1.5 years now with very little problem. The battery life is now quite bad (it'll last a full day if I don't listen to a lot of music), but my battery is old and you can buy batteries for around $5 on eBay.
Overall a great phone. However, only buy it outright if you find a great deal on it, otherwise it may be worth it to fork out a little more and get a little newer phone.
