Does T-Mobile still offer the 20% off a mobile broadband plan if you have a voice plan? If so, does it stack on top of a corporate discount?
Also, are there any special rates you can get from retentions or is what you see on the site what you get?
Any recommendations on these sort of plans? All the companies seem to have similar pricing on these (although Clear was a bit cheaper, the coverage doesn't look like anything you could travel with).
Talked with CS and got a couple questions answered. 20% is a standard deal. Corporate discount is only for voice line.
I meant to make sure that 20% is good for Value and Classic plans. I'm interested in the Value more but I don't know much about these new plans and limitations (the EM+ lines couldn't get discounts).
From what I was told, Value plans are not eligible for corporate discounts. The $10 off is pretty much a steal.
Value plans are eligible for corporate discounts. Back when they had Even More Plus, they didn't permit discounts on EM+. But for whatever reason, they permitted the discounts on the Value plans.
That $10 seems high but good (couple bucks better than the 20%).
My voice line is an old promo plan with preferred data. I think I'm gonna grab the hotspot value plan since that comes priced pretty well. The subsidized mifis are just too cheap to be a good deal vs. the value plans.
I called in for some info again and was told this time my 10% vet discount overrides the mobile broadband discount and I can't get both. He also said the discount is only good for Classic plans, maybe getting it on a Value was a lucky error?
I'll check back again later to double check how good the info is.
Oh, I've seen the posts of corporate discounts on Value.
Looking online at MyTmobile, it looks like a corporate discount does not work with $10 off mobile broadband. According to their FAQ, I should see the discount at checkout but I'm seeing only the full price. I tried both Classic and Value.
I went into a store to get their take this morning. The rep there said because I'm on the equivalent of a Classic plan on my voice line, I could not add mobile broadband on Value.
I could, however, add them in Classic as well as get the $10 off and they will still get my 10% vet discount (making it the same price as Value + 10% + subsidies.
I got 2 and after I verified info on the MyAccount Android app. They both show $10 off (although the rep added on insurance to a line even though I decline so now I need to call and remove).
Ideally I would have liked to go Value with all the discounts but this is good for now. Wish it wasn't so difficult getting something like this added.
Something odd was the rep claimed to get mail in rebates, you now have to sign up for easy pay. Is this legitimate or was I hosed? I usually upgrade my line via loyalty so I'm not on the up and up for standard store policies. I signed up for now, anyway.
I just got home from the store. I have an account for my brother that I pay on T-Mobile and he has a classic plan with a business discount of 15%, the rep put me on a value plan for $29.99, I got the $10 off and my corporate discount applied as well. Said I would be paying about $17 a month before taxes for the mifi.
I wonder if it's due to my voice line. My MBB lines are listed as EM instead of Classic. The rep was definitely trying to add me to Value at one point but kept getting errors. She called the Sales line to get help and they were unable to override it.
The explanation was me being on a Classic equivalent. If these listed as EM isn't the normal then maybe it's a limit due to my old plan.
