What is your experience with home phone connect? Are most of your customers returning them, are they moving, is it worth it to sell with small commissions, is it an easy sell?
We sell a good number of them. The margins are great, it requires little to no setup on your part, and it's one area where we can sell price. Returns are very infrequent.
Pro Tip: Activate a temporary number and port in their line afterwards. It allows them to buy it in store now and not go home and dig up their landline account number or consult with their spouse. They take it home and try it and 9 times out of 10 they will finish the port in themselves at home.

This is a great product.
We try and do the port in store. When a temporary number is disconnected there is no notice , they can freak and forget you told them to dial *228 when the port goes through.
You will also need to coach them to ditch any hard line phones, otherwise you will have to explain how to disconnect the telco feed at the service box on their house and plug the HPC into a wall jack to light up their hard line phones.
Stay away from those two scenarios and it is quite quite easy and a great sale esp for the old folks paying $65 a month for a landline.
It's a pretty good deal... but we haven't had too much luck with it. Most of out customers still use FAX machines which doesn't work with hpc. It's definitely worth it for elderly person paying alot for a landline.
Most of my customers with HPC are older (50 +) and are looking to save money. I just casually bring up in the sales process "do you have a home telephone line". That way later on in the sale I can ask them if I could save them money on their home phone service.
Most people my age 25-40 are getting away from having any type of home service whatsoever especially when everyone in the family has a cell phone.
Just as a tip, if you see a home phone number listed on their account and it's not one of their cell numbers, ask "Is this still the correct number for your home?" boom, conversation opened to HPC.
Our Dealer is making a big push on HPC, but I'll be honest they are not selling as well as I would like. I talk to every customer about it but have only sold "1" this month. In my area everyone and their cousing either has a bundle with home phone service or doesn't want home phone service in the first place. Anybody have any other really good tips for selling it? We have even tried handind out flyers with no success.
1. Great for a business as a spare line.
2. Great for people who are in the vehicles A LOT, hook it up like an old car phone lol...say a taxi or delivery truck
3. Great as phone for a vacation cabin used by a lot of people
4. Seniors who are watching every penny but want a landline phone experience.
5. Jobsite phone for a construction site.
6. Has better reception than regular phones in remote areas.
7. Place this in the home, and it may allow you to go down a price category in minute usage and never worry about overage from calls at home.
8. This is a tougher sale, but the local cable bundle with unlimited calling is $30, but the taxes on landlines push it to $42 total, while the HPC with taxes locally here is only $24.50. Position the savings on an annual basis as almost $200/year, PLUS it is portable. Go on an extended vacation, bring your home phone with you.
Plus have one right on the front desk and make calls from it in front of the customers, so they can see the simplicity and stress the word UNLIMITED.
We push it at every sale, and for the right customer it is the easiest least competitve sale you will ever make.
I know you're all very smart, but let me pass this on....when you're selling the HPC, be sure the customer doesn't have all of the things it is not compatible with hooked up to their existing land-line; fax, heart-rate monitors, life alert, security systems.
