    Does anyone remember when...

Remember the first S^3 OS? It had an email widget or "setting" <whatever its called> whereby you could setup you various email acc's and you got a small preview of the title's of said emails from all the accounts you had set up. I want to know if thats still available in "Anna". As it stands now all I have is a blue mail icon which is less informative because now I cant just glance at the screen and see what new mail I have, rather I have to press the icon to get to the mail app. Did I miss something or set it up wrong? I want that feature back so I can just look at my home screen and see the newest email header blurb. Thank you in advance for your help.

I skipped Anna (went from PR 1.1 to Belle), but I'm sure you just need to hold a blank area on a home screen and then hit 'add widget' then just add the mail widget.

Anna has a "mail" widget but it just shows up as an icon which is useless to me and since my phone is from robbers...err Rogers Belle is not available to me unless I go through the whole NSS + Pheonix process which I dont want to because I just recovered from a hard reset and am not willing to risk losing time and energy trying CFW Delight. The "Notifications" widget gives you a small preview and thats how it used to be with S^3 when you setup your email accounts.

Umm, no, Anna had email preview capability - not sure if it was any different from the original Symbian^3...

Could you please elaborate for me, as all I can seem to get is a blue email icon after I press that then I see the various accounts I have. After I select the mail box I want then I can see a small preview. But the OS I had before Anna's update let me see a preview on my homescreen of all my mail box's similar to what "notifications" does. Thanks.

Well, I just upgraded from Anna to Belle on Sunday, and now I can't recall how I had set up my mail, but it was as you said from before Anna - there was preview of all my mailboxes (one M4E, two IMAP) on the second home screen... Not sure if this was because I updated to Anna without any re-sets, and the setup was retained from before, or what...

in Anna (which is the same as S^3 before anna), you had a widget that is the size of one of the rectangles. it would would show the name of the box, then show the 2 newest email headers. you have to click on it to show the rest of the headers for that mail box. to see a different mailbox, you'd have to have another widget.

if you upgrade to Belle, the widget is now scrollable so you can see more headers before you have to click on it. but it still works the same way in which each widget is for each mail box. also, the widget now takes up half the screen, so you can only have 2 mail widgets per screen.

After having read some of the other posts about "Belle" and its apparent imaging degradation I'm inclined to suck it up and just deal with it because I'm not willing to lose image quality over my email preview annoyance. If I'm wrong here please let me know.

well it's not like it made the camera worst than other phones. it's still better (by a longshot), but the quality is not like 100% there anymore. i feel like it's a lot harder to get it to focus than before. but other than that, it's fine. if they get around to fixing it, then it will just be icing on the cake.

but if you use the phone for more than just the camera, then i would upgrade as the the Belle is so much better imo. better battery life, better stock browser, better memory management, etc.
