Can't figure out how/where to add contacts in Optimus Slider

Hello,
I just got the Optimus Slider and can't figure out where or how to add a contact. Can anyone help?
The instructions say: "To add contacts, press Menu and touch: Accounts to add or confingure an account with contacts you can sync to the phone
New Contact to create a new contact from scratch"

Can't find "Menu" to begin with...I have googled the virgin mobile site. Nor do I see anything that says "Accounts" or "New Contacts." Sorry for asking such an incredibly stupid question!!

You will need to create a gmail account, then you can add the contacts online, and the phone will sync with it.

Thanks idbl. I wanted to be able to add a contact via phone if possible. It took me a while but eventually I figured out how to do it.

Just for future users information.

To add contacts it's self explanitory, go to the contacts list > press menu > then tap "new contact". But to show the contact on the phone without adding them to your g-mail account you have to go to the contacts list, press menu > display options > under "choose contacts to display" click on your g-mail account > and check all the boxes under that, including all other contacts. Then the contacts you add thru the phone will show on your contact list.
