    Question Unlocked ICS QWERTY Phone?

Are there any contemporary (1GHz+ dual-core) QWERTY sliders (e.g. like the Droid 4, HTC MyTouch 4G Slide, Samsung Captivate Glide) available with ICS for 3G (AT&T - which may eliminate the Droid 4 as shipped) bands?

Prefer to pay full price (e.g. $800) rather than have a contract.

I'm astonished that the Droid 4 won't get ICS for six months (though an update to my BackFlip took longer), so I would rather buy a phone shipping with ICS at extra cost than wait for a slow locked carrier update.

    Ideas?

    Thanks.

If you want ICS right away, have a look at which of these devices has either an AOSP or CM9 functional build already available.

The Nexus S 9020A hasn't received its official ICS update yet, and I suspect that AT&T may be partly to blame for that. Even though I bought mine long before it was released stateside.

Best option is to wait until MWC.

An updated Pro+/XT610 would be nice, as well as a GSM release of the Droid 4/XT894.

Thanks. Isn't there usually quite a lag between a phone being previewed at MWC and it being available? I remember the Nokia N95 took a long time to come out.

I certainly could get a random phone and put a hobbyist image on it, but my first choice is to pay the significant coin to get a top-end device (unlocked) and not muck with it too much initially. It's got to be decently solid as a business communications tool for me, which is sometimes antagonistic to having a user-created image on it.
