I Did It - I Sold My Telus Shares

I had 25 non-voting Telus shares and I decided to sell them and use it towards my vacation...

They sold for $22.05 per share. After RBC Investment took their share I was sent a cheque for $508.25

Anyone else have any stock invested in Telus? Have you sold them? Why/why not?

    hmmmmm

I have no idea how many shares I have right now, they just take a percentage out every paycheck towards shares. I've never actually checked on how many I've collected all this time.

If i knew I'd prolly sell them though.

    I just checked they're actually voting shares...$24.30!!

I've got 50 of them and I'm half tempted to sell mine too. Might wait till Xmas so I won't have to go into debt this year. What is the procedure for selling them?

The simplest way I found was to go to Royal Bank's RBC Investements and open an "Action Direct" account. You don't need a bank account with them. Just tell them you want to do a one-time trade and they will set you up.

Took about a week or so to process...

    Should have kept them!
TELUS reported strong earnings which boosted the costs of shares!

There are many ways you can buy shares. If you have a sizeable investment portfolia then you can invest through a stock broker. If you just want to buy a small amount of shares now and then you can use a service provided by your bank. Make sure you read all the fine print because often banks charge lots of fees that make it hard to profit from small changes in stock price.
