1 question when do they remove Nextel from Sprint Nextel Corp????
I cant wait to see how well the new iphone does when its released next month. sprint needs to sell 24 million iphones in 4 years so 6 million a year there already ahead good gamble so far for Hesse and Sprint. Hopefully sprint turns on some major lte markets around the launch of the iphone.

Regarding consolidation, Hesse reiterated that he would prefer it if Sprint focused more on executing the Network Vision plan through the middle of 2013 than worrying about mergers and acquisitions. However, he said he thinks some kind of deal between wireless carriers is going to happen. "I do think there will be consolidation," he said. "I would hope and expect that over the long term Sprint will take a very active role in that."

Consolidation with MetroPCS, Cricket, and U.S. Cellular a possibility?

Hesse also sees potential consolidation in the wireless industry and that Sprint would see itself completing a merger deal once Network Vision has been concluded and if the deal offers realizable synergies. Sprint is aware that it does not have the scale that the AT&T/Verizon duopoly does. If Sprint was to acquire a company, it would be looking to find deals that offer realizable synergies in a quick payback period. We believe that the most logical companies that Sprint would acquire would be the regional postpaid firm U.S. Cellular and the prepaid firms MetroPCS and Leap Wireless since all four firms are legacy CDMA firms and all four are in the process of building out 4G-LTE networks. If Sprint acquired all three of the legacy CDMA firms, it would result in Sprint having over 77M customers and make it a little more competitive to the AT&T/Verizon duopoly.
Just guessing, but to acquire all three would probably take a minimum of $15B. That's a pretty penny though cheaper than t-mobile would be...
Thrill me...
