Moving to Vancouver Temporarily. What should I do?

I am going to be relocating to Vancouver temporarily for work, 2-3 months, and I could use some advice about what I should do.

I currently have a US T-mobile version of the Nexus S. So I could go up to Canada and simply pop in a sim card and be done with it. But I would still like to have smart phone/DATA capabilities. But the 3g frequencies in my phone are incompatible with those in Canada.

So what, if any, options are easily available to me for getting a smart phone to use while in Canada for 2-3 months?

If I decide to ditch that idea and stick with my current phone on EDGE while in Vancouver which carrier you recommend I go with? Prepaid?

You will be able to use T-Mobile nexus s on Wind Mobile AND Mobilicity (both are AWS just like t-mobile) once you get to Vancouver, just bring the phone, head to the store and test with their SIM. They both offer good price, as long as you are in their service area.

Awesome! Thanks. I didnt know any canadian carriers used AWS.

I'll definitively look into those carriers.

If you had to choose between them which would you go with?

Go to the website and check out the service maps.

Both have pockets of no service. I can only speak about Wind having excellent coverage in Vancouver since I use them for the Galaxy Nexus. I am sure Mobilicity is also very good. Building penetration could be an issue.

If you are inside buildings, Rogers would provide stress free connectivity for the most money.
