Open Mobile (Puerto Rico) quietly launched the CDMA iPhone 4/4S today (5/18/12) starting at $300 without contract.

Open Mobile doesn't subsidize phones with contracts, they offer an all inclusive plan for $69.99. The price of the phone includes the activation fee and the first month of service.

You can choose from the iPhone 4 (16GB) or the 4S (16GB, 32GB and 64GB).

Con = with, Sin = without

Literally translated: Price of equipment with/without portability

Not certain how portability is defined, but I suspect it refers to locked vs. unlocked device.

BTW: I did a quick search in Google to verify the translation.

Apparently if you buy an iPhone 4S you get a $100 discount if you bring your number from another company, which means that someone else lost a customer; or get a $50 discount on the iPhone 4 for the same reason.

It's not bad but I'm personally not going back to CDMA, I love swapping SIM cards when needed. Also CDMA is slow for data.

    Terms and Conditions

Number ported must belong to a mobile company operating in Puerto Rico. Not valid for prepaid phones. If your Puerto Rico unlimited data goes over the 2GB quota the service will not be interrupted but the speed will be reduced until the next billing cycle begins. If your US roaming data goes over the 250MB quota the service will be interrupted and you will have the option of purchasing additional megabytes of data from your iPhone. International roaming is offered using your "Open Cash" account and it is necessary that you have the dollar amount in your account to cover the cost. "Open Cash" is available in $10, $20, and $30 denominations. This amount does not expire as long as the account is active, you may add balance to your "Open Cash" account as many times as you want. Your unused balance is non-refundable. You may add funds to your "Open Cash" account at our corporate store, by dialing 6-1-1 from your unit, and on our web page: www.openmobilepr.com. Activation charge is $35. The regular iPhone rate plan is $79.95. A non-refundable $150 deposit is required at the time of purchase. This deposit is required for new sales or "upgrades". The $150 deposit will allow the customer a $10 monthly discount on the iPhone rate plan. With the $10 discount the client will enjoy a $69.95 monthly rate plan as long as the account stays active. The $150 deposit is non-refundable and will not be returned to the client even if the account is inactive or closed. If the iPhone is re-activated the non-refundable deposit will not be charged and the $10 monthly discount will no be applied for which the client will pay the regular monthly price of $79.95. Applicable state and federal charges may apply such as: 9-1-1 Service, Puerto Rico Universal Service Fund, Portability Charge, CRIM Recovery Fee, and IVU sales tax. These charges will be added to your monthly bill. Offer valid from may 17 to june 30 2012.

You can sign up with VZW without contract if you bring your own phone or pay full retail. Or you can sign up with one of their MVNO's, like Page Plus Cellular.
