I wonder if there is a way around getting the wifi hotspot to work like in the amaze 4g. If anyone gets this phone, please update us on this!
I'm glad they didn't price it like the amaze when it was released.

Not sure which way you are talking about, but we got 3 of these phones for my family yesterday (I still prefer my Nokia 700's smaller size and Tzones) but the wifi hotspot worked flawlessly, first time seeing the HSPA+ network in action and it was pretty fast. The phones do have the 5GB premium unlimited data plan, and T-mobile is throwing in the tethering feature for free so dont know if that had any bearing on the the hotspot. I do like how the hotspot supports infrastructure mode, now only if I could get an app for my Nokia that did the same!
Thanks for the info. Galaxy s2 and amaze users had reported problems with tmo redirecting them to sign up for tethering if they used the wifi hotspot. Its good to know WiFi hotspot works out of the box for free.

Well...like I said they had a promo where new 2 yr contract were being provided with the hotspot/tethering utility at no additional cost over the unlimited premium data plan. So if you didnt get that promo, and dont have the tethering feature, you probably will still get redirected to sign up for it.

that promo wasn't available for people with the $20 android preferred plan. I guess no one with the preferred plan has tested tethering then?
