808, it'll still be useful 5 years from now. The N9 is only for people who buy a new device every 3 months.
That said, I would wait for it to drop in price, because it won't drop in value. Even if a PureView WP8 gets released, Nokia made their point, so there's a reasonable chance (also based on Nokia's track record) that the PV will have a bigger sensor than most of their subsequent phones.
The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband. The reason Wind and Mobilicity users like pentaband phones is because the reverse is true. We're not the only ones who like pentaband phones though, so please stop referring to phones that work on Wind and Mobilicity as pentaband. It causes unnecessary cofusion.
41 megapixels is ridiculous, but the design on that thing is horrific...

Well i finally have my 808!! Came today and im working so not playing with it non stop. It feels really solid for it being plastic. After the weekend i should have more to say about it.
How much was it? None of the North American carriers are carrying it so there is no subsidized pricing. Amazon has it for $700 plus taxes plus shipping.
Yep, the phone is pretty expensive for us in the states, but i was tired of waiting for my preorders to come in. I paid 780 for the phone and next day delivery. I plan on keeping it for a couple of years though and i can use my grandgathered att data plan with it also. I had a couple of preorders for not too much less then what i spent so i was happy just to get the phone a little earlier.
When I heard that Nokia 808 contain 41 MP camera, I was just shocked. Now I haven't this phone but I know about its features and facilities. Nokia 808 will be my next mobile that support high quality video and image, great Xenon flash, LED video light etc.
I think this is a camera with the capabilities of a phone. It was Nokia which started the first 2 MP camera and today it is Nokia again boasting the thumping 41 MP camera. So the old guns have started to fire again. They may be down but not out.
i give it a few months 'til it's down to 500$.
I was set to preorder from Amazon, but not sure anymore. Both the Verge and Engadget noted terrible web browsing performance - not just slow performance, but crashes and incorrect rendering; as well as poor email client. I was hoping these things would have been fixed by now and now I might be leaning more towards the N9 ($430) or One X ($550) instead.
ETA: Also, the default answer to the browser complaint is always "use Opera mobile", and I have to say I don't get it. That app renders sites completely wrong. faster, yes, but not correctly.
I actually think it looks really good in these review photos. I feel like Nokia picks the worst wallpapers to advertise their phones in marketing ads.

i've never had a problem with the nokia browser on the N8, even before belle.
