has anyone had the browser crash the whole phone ? I had to pull the battery out because of it..

The browser runs quite well if you turn off flash, auto reload, and java script..much better than the n8

the facebook button issue, i think its a firmware issue.. my amazon unit came with .310 and there is .311 on navifirm. I am running 311 and the facebook/share button is there and it works fine, so check for updates, if it isn;t there, it should be soon

So whatever they did for the N9, they probably did something similar to Belle FP1, because pre FP1 belle works fine. I hope a custom rom might fix it.. its one of those essential apps. I tried 3 different product codes/firmwares and non of them worked..

I'm really hoping that a custom firmware will fix the issue. Besides Joikuspot and GPS not working on Sports Tracker, everything else seems to be going great.
It works fine on my N8.. I might have to start using the usb cable/modem option, which I've never done before since I've been using joiku from e71 days.

I just tested sportstracker and it doesn't work.. They've changed things around the GPS software, I can't find the positioning methods in the menu anymore.

edit. Ok, if you run google maps before sports tracker and let it lock the GPS first, sport tracker locks the signal as well. Problem is it crashed after I hit "stop" .. so there is an issue with the app.

Looks like there might be an issue with wifi, not sure though. After I turn on wifi, after a while the phone will drop all connections and says "no sim", even remains this way after reboot. Several reboots and then working. The Sim is secured in place.

on at&t and cut the sim, can a bad sim cause problem after a few days of working? waiting for new sim from ebay. Just wondered if anyone has similar issue?

Go to AT&T, they should give you a free replacement. When I went in to get a microsim, they gave it to me for free. Their records still show that I have a SE S710a.

I'm a bit disappointed that there still is no notification for new emails when the phone is asleep other than vibration (which is weak). They seriously couldn't get the led light to work with this yet?
Ah, I'd misunderstood the issue here, which seems to be the missing Facebook share button. Mine is in fact missing the Facebook icon when viewing pics.

Quick question. Does the 808 Pureview have 4G capability. I still haven't been able to decipher that lol.

    what a journey so far...
My 808 was corrupted completely yesterday. It started with random freezes (was using the camera a lot) and continued with a failed hard reset (phone just turned off during the reset process and never turned back on).

I was unable to flash the latest firmware using Nokia Care Suite, but managed to do it successfully through Phoenix (even though the program threw an error at the beginning of the flash).

I've now got the latest firmware available through Navifirm, but still the middle button in gallery causes the phone to freeze (it's just a blank button). I'm starting to get fed up with the phone. Hardware is great, but software feels less finished and complete compared to any other Symbian phone I've owned in the past.

I had the same issue (phone turned off during reset and never turned back). I never had issues with the phone, just wanted to hard-reset.

Was able to recover with a 4 button salute (cameradown+camera+power+(middle or green).

Waiting for new micro sim to see if "no sim" errors are due to sim.

Software is very so-so, but I expected that as Nokia software generally sucks. Fire up the camera and all is forgiven

Ah ok, so you said you were getting 3.5g? where did you end up importing your 808 from? Or was it bought from Amazon US?

The 808 should've been preloaded with Joikuspot Light so you should be at least able to test that. Hope fully you're not running into too many bugs now.

I flashed it with Phoenix, super easy.. there are bunch of tutorials on youtube

the browser thing happened only once, no issues since then and i've been using it a lot. Phone is very stable overall.

Here is a quick demo of the browser I made today, tried to get close to the screen for those who think the resolution is too low.

I've switched the flash and auto reload off

I got mine from Amazon US. Strangely I don't have Joiju spot lite though. So I can't test it. Only bugs are the contacts widget not loading pics from Facebook and the "Places nearby" widget needing to be reloaded in order to refresh.
