Dell VP Pro help me decide which sim

Which sim should I get for the Dell venue Pro. About to get one off CL and it will get 3g from both ATT and TMO. Wondering if any straight talkers have noticed any difference in areas where both have decent coverage. Especially interested in input from anyone in the greater Phoenix Area. Thinking I might roam better with ATT all other things being equal?

As someone here who owns a Dell Venue Pro I just like to say a couple things.
Becareful because you can end up with one that will operate on AT&T UMTS OR TMobile UMTS and if its unlocked you can work on either on GSM (Edge). Dell is no longer selling this phone but you can find it from other vendors. Again make sure you get the correct on for UMTS (3G) for your area (check your map coverage or with StraightTalk as stated above) because on some of the listing of this device it don't specify which bands its for.

As Neftv said, make sure you know which bands your phone supports.

To answer your other question, I live in the Phoenix area and picked the ATT sim. It works very well and fast here almost anywhere I go. The exception is my office, but only VZW gets decent signal there it seems as the other big 3 suck. Thank god for an ATT hotspot in the hotel next to my office.

Anyway, ATT only has the 1900 in Phoenix, so their penetration in buildings isn't as good, but tmobile is at a frequency near that so it's no better. Ask your friends and coworkers who have both services their experiences, that's what I did.

Did you guys have any trouble getting MMS to work. I just got the Samsung Focus yesterday & MMS is a no-go. The Network Profile app doesn't work either. I am considering trying the HTC HD7S again (used it on Simple before), but the Dell Venue Pro is cheaper on ebay for new ones.

Samsung Focus mms will not work. You can't edit the mms settings on it.

actually i have same phone that i bought unlocked on ebay and have been testing it with ST ATT sim in brooklyn NY. Coverage seems fine but internet speeds are crappy in my area. What i find interesting is that browsing is pretty fast but using bandwitdh app from marketplace doesn't seem to work too well. I have a feeling that either app is bad or ST is doing some sort of filtering in my area. This is my first try at WP7 phones so i might be missing something.

Anybody have a suggestion on measuring speeds on WP7 phones?

I was actually asking if they got MMS to work on the Dell Venue Pro.

I got MMS working on my Venue Pro. You have to use the EM app once it's installed. ##634# call brings up a menu of which one is for MMS.

Ok thanks. I actually really like the Focus. I will try the old email-to-phone trick if I ever need to send pics. So far, that's the only thing I don't like.

You need to be careful because the Venue Pro does not have both 3g bands for AT&T/T-Mobile. They made a T-Mobile band version and an AT&T band version.

I know, thank you. I've actually been using CDMA & GSM back & forth through the years. I love T-Mobile but their offerings look a bit stale to me at the moment. Which is why I decided to go with Straight Talk w/ an AT&T sim. I wanted WP7 & they definitely have the best selection hands down. I am really liking the Focus but I want to try a Venue Pro...until the prices goes down a bit on the Focus S (on ebay). Ultimately, I'm wanting the Lumia 900. That looks great.

To follow up...I just got the Dell Venue Pro in the mail today and I had to use the wap.tracfone apn because none of the others would work, just like on the Samsung Focus. Also, regardless of what mms settings I have tried, it doesn't seem to want to work either. This is really disappointing... I'm starting to think this has to do with the fact that it's AT&T. The other people that have no trouble are using T-Mobile.

Just tried the att.mvno apn and it worked...still no mms though. Data seems to be faster. May just be me.
