(auto reply xD) I've found something similar: https://market.android.com/details?i...Makubona&hl=es not sure if it is like the same or not. ... But it's only on japanese. ... does this kind of stuff have some name? so I can do a better search?

Not sure if I should post this here, but any moderator can move this if he/she wants to. Well, I've seen the "show your keitai" thread and found out that some user has something called "machi chara" in his phone. From what I understand, it's a tiny character that appears in the menu and reacts differently according to, if you get some SMS, missed phone calls, or if there is some special day (like halloween, etc). It's not something that could change someone's life :P but, I dunno, it looks like a nice little thing.
But I think it's exclusive to DoCoMo phones: http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/english/s...t/machi_chara/
so my question is: is there any app for android that is similar to that? ... I am interested in getting an Sharp 007SH (I'm asking like a complete noob through all the forum different stuff, but I rather look like a noob but at least be 100% about everything before purchasing anything xD). And if there is, does it drain A LOT of your battery? ... a mini character based on the android mascot would be awesome
thanks!

Here you go. Unfortunately, they are all in Japanese.

machi chara= マチキャラ
free = 無料
Happy googling![]()
EVERYTHING'S GONE
Oh... well, thanks anyways for the info. ... If I were a developer I would translate one of them, or create a similar one but in english and I'm sure a lot of people would download it ... unfortunatly, my knowledge on programing is the same that japanese: absolutly nothing xD
edit: I think that I found Andoll in english. It's in the Market. The bad thing is that I can't test it out ... cause I don't have an android phone YET xD. But if someone wants to get it, it's free :3 (and if that person wants to tell us how well it performs, he/she is more than welcome to do it xD)

Just tried Andoll. It's not really like a MachiChara. It changes its appearance sometimes, but it isn't animated or anything...

I've just found out that the DoComo phones with Android have the machi chara thing too, like in this video:
is it possible to download like ... a Docomo launcher or something to have it too? (I'll be getting a 007SH, and as you know, it's a Softbank phone without that feature)
Found a softbank only "machi chara" I think ... it's called " お父さんウィジェット "
here's the webpage: http://boxyz.com/works/widget/otousan/
Also found this for Android phones:
-http://tinyurl.com/7jrnu97 which contains a google play link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...charcollection
- http://androreview.com/?p=4551 which contains a google play link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...paper_machi004
http://www.biglobe.co.jp/pressroom/info/2011/12/28a
and finally this one which seems to be the closest thing to a machi-chara: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...e.desktop.neko
Why am I posting this? Maybe it would be useful for someone who knows japanese and uses this forum, I don't know. ...

Any chance of pulling any of the APKs? I can't install this on my SH7218u...
I think it's a useful discussion. I would love the concierge from Docomo only my phone, just walking around, like he does on my SH-01B.
Found this: http://codekiem.com/2012/02/24/apk-downloader/ . I could just simply post the .apk you requested ... the problem is ... I still don't own my Android phone, so I can't do this because I would need the ID =P
If you are gonna do this, take into account that in the step 2 the simple ” at the end of the chrome.exe makes a difference, so if it doesn't work try without the ” and vice versa.
How is it that you need an ID? you can just get it by downloading this into your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...edphx.deviceid (I mean, that one does seems like an app that would run fine on ANY android, including the SH7218u)
When my friend from Korea came to visit, she brought her phone with her. It had something machi chara esque, it was in korean (could be switched to english). It may have been a custom thing, but I'll ask her![]()
The page also mentioned an alternative method which doesn't require any software:
Open dial pad, call *#*#8255#*#* ( 8255 = TALK ). If it opens “GTalk Service Monitor”, find lines that begin with JID and Device ID. Your email is JID, and your device id is a string that after android- prefix
For example: if it shows android-1234567890abcdef , then your device ID is 1234567890abcdef
didn't that work either?
