This offer is sooo tempting, but Mobilicity's indoor reception at the office is non-existent on the ground floor (no windows, warehouse-like building).

Attract new customers, without downgrading the ARPU of their current customer base (most recently claimed to be just over $30).
It does seem unfair, but offering deals for the sole purpose of bringing in new business is not uncommon. Another example would be Shaw's dirt cheap introductory internet promos, not available to their current or recent customers.

I think this plan is really good...$25 with everything and most important is internet and call display are both included, which my rogers plan now has no data and no unlimited texts at all!! is this price stay forever or good for 1 yr or certain time only??
I am thinking of telling my sister to get this as she doesn't use much mins, but lots of data an doesn't really leave Toronto Proper.
What is the best way to get a phone, through them or from somewhere else...I assume they don't have tab or some variation like that?
mobilicity does not have a subsidy program.
It is really misleading how they charge extra for BIS. Moblicity is probably the only carrier who charges extra for BIS

Each carrier must pay a fee to RIM for use of BIS service.
Would you suggest raising the cost of each Mobilicity plan and incorporate the cost of BIS for every data user, blackberry or not?
Its kind of a biased argument considering that most carriers charge double or triple what Mobilicity charges for a limited amount of data.
It is not extra for wind mobile, even robelus doesn't charge extra

As I understand it - correct me if I'm wrong - unlike other phones (e.g. my panache), Blackberry data is compressed such that blackberry users on average use significantly less data. Would there be enough of a difference in data users to include that fee paid to RIM as such produced a lower network load and presumably lower costs to mobilicity?
Based on the @mobilicity tweet this afternoon, the current $25 promo may be ending Saturday.
Hey Mobilicity Fans! Activate your $25 Unlimited data, talk and text plan before March 31! $25 Bucks. Period.

In the AWS/cellular context, TAFL is Industry Canada's list of all base stations in operation, as submitted by the spectrum licensee the month prior.
The underlying database is Industry Canada's Assignment and Licensing System (ALS)
A subset of the ALS is published monthly as the Technical and Administrative Frequency Lists (TAFL)
Real-time access to the AWS/cellular data of ALS is provided by Spectrum Direct's (SD) Geographical Area Search
My wife and I switched to Mobilicity in Calgary, and are super happy. Paying $50 for two phones unlimited everything where I used to pay $50 per one line, with a constant headache for credits from Rogers. So far the signal has been great everywhere I go! best deal ever
Are you sure about that? CoverageMapper lists Cochrane as black which means according to the legend "No Service". You might get the odd funny signal bounce, but I wouldn't count on a signal in those areas.
