    HomeFusion LTE

    HomeFusion Broadband from Verizon

It's starting in the South. It would be $59.99/month for 10 GB data with a onetime equipment fee of $199.99.

It sounds very tempting, but I'm wondering if it would require a contract and if other packages with a higher data limit would be available as I would burn through 10 GB in about two weeks.
Rooted Droid 4 with Jelly Bean 4.1.2, system version 98.72.18.XT894.Verizon.en.US
I charge forward recklessly, leaving chaos in my wake.
Boycott phones that lack microSD storage!

It's interesting that Dallas will be a trial city when Dallas is nowhere near a broadband-starved area. In Dallas and its suburbs, most places have access to at least 3 broadband companies (Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-Verse, and Time Warner RoadRunner.) Since all of those are cheaper, I don't see this being popular in the Metroplex.

It would make more sense to try it out in the sticks.

That's what I thought. And this thing is the size of a 5-gallon bucket! Not exactly something you discretely put on the side or roof of your house. Some neighborhoods don't even allow a Dish or DirecTV dish to be visible from the street, and I don't see them considering this thing to be any "prettier".

Thankfully, we don't have any areas like that around here.

If you live in the country far from other houses, this might be a good thing except for the high price and data caps. And who cares what you put on the side of your house in the country? I've seen FAR worse, LOL. It is just as expensive as the DirecWay service but should be faster, but you would burn through that data cap in no time.

I think the federal rule about TV dishes would also apply to those. HOA rules, landlords, etc. couldn't restrict someone from installing one on their house or "individual use area" of an apartment.

Birmingham, AL will really benefit from this since AT&T decides its great not to service anyone even with DSL more than a couple of miles off the interstate, and the cable company is the rural service provider is the same way (Brighthouse)
