Samsung Focus Flash(Windows7) on Straight Talk

Verified to be fully functional. Should work with any GSM Samsung Windows 7 phone.

    Steps:

    1. Download "Wireless Manager" from "Samsung Zone" in the Marketplace
    2. Go into your phone's Settings > Cellular > Data Roaming Options > Set to "Don't Roam"
    3. Go into "Wireless Manager" --- UNCHECK "Automatic APN" - then Select "AT&T 4G"
    4. Go back 1 screen and Click "Edit APN"

    There should be 3 APNs (internet_line, mms_line, softap_line)

Enter the settings exactly as listed below in each of the fields.

    ___

    APN name: internet_line

    Profile category: internet (always on)

    APN: att.mvno

Wireless Manager works on NEWER Samsung Windows phones, but the older ones (like regular Focus, which I have).. it does not. So we can change the APN but not the MMS settings. Have to life without MMS.
Go GSM! Switch phones on demand.

It's actually strange to me that it doesn't work on the Focus. Aren't you on 7.5 Mango? That's the same Windows version as the Focus Flash. Okay so this probably works on the Omnia W and the Focus S as well, since they are the newest. The others....the Omnia 7 is a question mark....and pitflyer says it doesn't work on the original Focus. It can't hurt to try it though. Either the app works or it doesn't.

Thank you I just recently purchased a NET10 AT&T Compatible Sim for my Focus Flash.

And Was having a problem with Bing Maps Local Scout Functions not working Correctly. Saying please check wifi or data connection and tellme functions not working has well via cell data (wifi works).

After Installing Wireless Manager and changing the settings to match the above, restarted the phone and reconnected and tried Bings Maps Local Scout and TellMe Services all Working Now.

    Thank you very much.

    Thank You..

Does your Focus have to be unlocked to use Wireless Manager? I loaded it on my phone and it says my device does not support wireless manager.

Unlocking has nothing to do with that. Your phone is probably too old for this to work.

Wireless Manager doesn't work on the Focus, only Network Profile, and it only has presets that you can't alter.

Tried to use network profile and it does not work either. When I try to open it I get a message saying the application can not be used because the device is in network locked state by mobile operator. Makes me think I need to cancel my AT&T service before I proceed with using Straight Talk. So far all I have done is swap out the sim card and change the apn settings I could change. In regards to the phone being too old, this phone was released 17 months ago, and I have had this for only a year. It has been upgraded to WP 7.5 mango.

yes your phone does have to be unlocked to use Network Profile. You need to get your code and then enter it in the diagnostic app.

Don't bother though because there is no preset for Straight Talk, only ATT so it won't work.

So I wasted $65 on Straight Talk for a sim card and a month of service.

no, you spent $65 for Straight Talk unlimited with everything working but MMS. If you ditch the Focus and get a Focus Flash or Focus S you can get everything working.

Exactly what ivaz said. Unfortunately, I cannot edit my original post, but if you read the thread all the way through you will see that this was discussed before.

Kinda like buying a care that doesn't have a working reverse gear. No I wasted my money. I even talked to support prior to purchase and they indicated it would work. A lot of my friends were going to switch to Straight Talk, but that just changed.

support is going to tell you anything to get you to buy, don't listen to them.

also your analogy is not very good....and analogies are cliche these days anyways. fact is you bought a service plan where most things work.

if you really want to send pictures I'd suggest something like What's App
