Just an idea (for software unlock on 007SH)

People, going back on topic, I found out in another forum that some guy said that in order to soft unlock these phones you have to downgrade them to 2.2 first. Here: http://topicworld.net/showthread.php...-for-the-005SH
Maybe it's a gingerbread limitation, and instead of trying to find what the hell blocks this phone, we can face the problem in this other way. I wonder if that's possible...

Edit: apparently it's possible to downgrade. I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1089989 . ... however, I don't know if by downgrading it would be these phones (005SH, 007SH etc) rootable... plus I don't know what the hell is a bootloader and if it is something that you can install without having the phone rooted

anyways, the guy told that clue about downgrading the phone still sent his to kokos :P

My 005SH runs 2.3.4 plus two firmware updates released after the major update. Running 2.3.4 does have its advantages (and a disadvantage as it seems from your info) - improved battery use, slicker UI design, ability to play 3D videos directly from YouTube and so on.

I'm not asking you to do it, but just to know, if you decided to downgrade to Froyo then would you be able to upgrade to 2.3.4 after?

I don't know really. I mean, we've no proof that after this software unlock the phones can be upgraded/updated.

I mean, Kokos claims they can, but if they could, would he be selling them running 2.2?

The upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3 is not an easy thing to do - you must have your Windows switched to Japanese language/locale and the phone must be switched to Japanese as well. I'm not sure if there are other things that need to be observed.

When I tried to upgrade my 005SH, my Windows was in English and so was my phone. I killed the phone (it got stuck in Update mode) so I had to send it to Japan to get it fixed (luckily, it has warranty and there's a kind soul there who helped me )

That's why I wouldn't risk downgrading...

Hello again guys. No news yet ... but some info that is good to know. If you google "soft unlock 007SH" one of the first results is from a page called foneszone.
