The argument was not about 4G per se. Australian authorities were complaining about the LTE which did not work on the frequencies in Australia. Telstra, which brought the complaint, has been calling its high speed service "Next G" for several years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_G
Really? Thanks for pointing that out. I thought it was a combination of calling HSPA + "4G" and the lack of compatible LTE bands.
