Speedtest results please. I know it takes effort to take those, but a max speed tells us nothing because throttles are never perfect

I don't think that guy has a clue. Heck, just foraging around on ChanScan (RIP Chandroid) burns through data like no tomorrow, but then again you wouldn't believe how many cool pictures (umm, infographics) you can download there.

294Kbps is not a horrendous throttle, I'd bet some would be happy to achieve that speed all the time.
I think T-Mobile is something like a 3rd of that. AT&T postpaid is no better.

This month, I've watched so many youtube videos, listened to streaming radio, and done pretty much everything, because my home internet is off, yet, I'm still only at about 1.5gb. So its pretty safe to say I'll never have an issue with the softcap, as long as I don't take advantage by tethering...which I don't plan on doing

Funny thing I have noticed since the data cap, I have more troubles with connections at the begining of the month then the end.

2 days into a new plan and higher speeds but constant drops where I lose bars. was like that last month too.

is the throttles network more reliable???

It seems to be. At least, on the psychological side when you're expecting slower speeds, you're less unhappy with sub-par performance. But horrible speeds are much more apparent when you're running something faster, such as an unthrottled connection.

I hope that makes sense. If not, I'll lay off the caffeine.

Try using Opera Mini, I'm averaging 70% Data savings each month with the OM browser. It also performs as fast as pre-throttle speeds.

Operating without a contract makes you far more valuable.

my internet use even tethered is beyond minimal, downloading TV shows and short movies at good quality from youtube eats up some space. [I don't streme anything, I just download it, then decide to dump it. tubemate off market app]

Been doing Hogans Hero's and I only got about 13 downloaded before I filled up the 2GB of free space I had.

I switched providers, and promptly realized the soft cap starts as soon as you start using Virgin Mobile's service.

    That's a revelation and a half.

I don't think I'll ever have to worry about reaching the 2.5GB cap with the speeds I've been getting since.. forever.

Question VM Data Cap Yes Or No?

Is there a Data Cap for Virgin Mobile's Internet? I heard that their internet was not UNLIMITED.
