This could be due to the new SIM cards that Telus has. All new SIMs are designed to work on HSPA and LTE. Since that was the major change that might be why.

I don't know whether this discussion is allowed or not.
I had an iPhone 4 for many months and I used my TELUS sim with a Gevey on a Rogers locked phone.
One day I ended up damaging my SIM and ordered another new sim.
This new sim however isn't recognised with Gevey. So I ordered a standard size sim and cut it down and I get the same problem, with Gevey it doesn't get recognised.
I tried a Bell, Rogers, and Fido Microsim and they all work on this Gevey except the new Telus sims.
There is also a seller on eBay that claims the same thing, that Gevey doesn't work on TELUS.
Is there any method to fix this?

Hello
I'm looking to use my fido iphone 4 with telus using gevey. Does it work well? Does it work with data? Where can I find a v2 micro sim? If I do get hold of a v2 sim, will telus activate it for me? Or are they only allowing v3's?
Thanks in advance
I purchased The Gevey Ultra S and unlocked my Telus iphone 4s, so I can use it on the Fido network. When i put the Fido sim card in I can make calls but not use data. Has anyone else had this issue?
The nicer answer to this is. Often with the iphone devices the APN that comes with the carrier settings file will over ride the manual APN you enter if the phone thinks you are connected to an officially supported iphone carrier. (Any carrier that is authorized to sell the iphone).
If you need to override the APN settings of an official iphone carrier you need to either use the iphone administration kit or use the website unlockit.co.nz to apply a corporate profile to the phone which takes precedence over the carrier settings file.
Using the browser on the iphone (not your desktop computer) you visit http://unlockit.co.nz You often have to do this from Wifi since your data is not working over 3G yet so plan accordingly.
From there you can pick one of the preconfigured APN options for the carrier you are planning to use and install it. If you already have a profile installed you have to uninstall it first before changing to a new one.
I believe in the case of the Gevey SIM, it's tricking the phone into thinking it's still connected to the original network (Telus in this case) so it's still going to be trying to use the APN setting for Telus and entering a manual one will not override that setting.
