I bought an AT&T prepaid phone for use in USA during winter. ($14.88 at walmart!) I was surprised to find that this phone can be used for roaming in Canada and Mexico.

There seems no reason why I cannot top up with $25.00/90days 4 times a year and use the phone for teh 10 months I am at home. Cost per minute is $0.39 which is about same as Rogers.

But, in my case my usage is very low when in Canada, so I may get a Speakyeasy SIM and use their $25/365 day offering. That will mean buying a new AT&T SIM when we return to USA.
