I never really used a white phone and would love to see more colour selection other than the mostly used 3 which are white, black and pink but if I was you I'd go for the white sh-01b. I think black is quite lame and too common![]()

Hello (●´∀`●) ~
I'm having trouble deciding between a black SH-01b and white SH-01b. Personally I prefer the white (^_^)but I'm scared that the keypad might turn yellow...
Any opinions? ^__^
I never really used a white phone and would love to see more colour selection other than the mostly used 3 which are white, black and pink but if I was you I'd go for the white sh-01b. I think black is quite lame and too common![]()
It's pretty simple: black colour is always more elegant, but as this is piano black with glossy finish then the phone will be all covered with fingerprints. A white phone shouldn't have that many fingerprints. I've never heard of phone keys turning yellow
Well, then you've got:
White phone: keys getting yellow (permanent)
Black phone: fingerprints all over the place (but not something permanent)
In that case I'd buy a black phone, but anyways the colour isn't a big deal (as long as it isn't pink if you are a straight guy) . If you LOVE the white colour then you rather get it in that colour. If you're really concerned about the keys, then get the black one.
Only other option would be asking to some SH-01B white phone owner if that issue with the keys happens in THIS particular phone (because I don't think you can actually find online which specific type of plastic this particular phone has on it's keys)
I wouldn't actually mind if the phone keys change colour over time, after all this shows that it has been used a lot and that's not a bad thing. In the end you buy phones in order to use them and you don't expect them to stay as clean as they were. And I think this is better than needing to clean the black surface and those finger prints every time you touch it xD I don't like seeing finger prints on glossy surfaces. So for this reason, I'd again go for a white colour
But I agree with SuperSZ, ask the person who is selling you the phone about the keys and stuff if it really concerns you.
(or wear gloves while using it :P)
This is something common that happens with white SH-01Bs and white SH7218Us. I have even seen a pink SH7228U with slight brownish/yellowing keys. A good solution is to buy some sort of protective film and put it over the keys. I have heard of something called GMASK that will be useable and you can also see if InvisibleShield will help. Just look around and see what you can find. FYI, the actual "keys" won't yellow, the area around them will. Mine turned yellow and I really wish I had thought about this yellowing before, I've learned to deal with it because in certain light you can't notice but I am still trying to find a way to get rid of some of the yellowing.
In my opinion you cannot go wrong with either colour. The white looks very nice and clean and gives the phone more of an elegantl somewhat futuristic look. The black looks very prestigious and the top is reflective and is a great show piece of the phone. In my opinion, I still prefer the white because of the feeling of normality a black phone gives.
There is also the option of using this: http://www.xmoyo.com/create.php?id=2910 to cover your entire phone and the keypad area. Though it will not cover your d-pad, which is an area that gets affected by yellowing.
Good luck on your decision! SH-01B is an awesome phone!
I've decided to get the white SH-01b (*^^*) The black phone doesn't really appeal to me that much (the colour and the fingerprint issue). I think I'll deal with the whole yellowing of the screen, it's what comes with a phone ^_^
Thanks for all ya'll opinions! (^v^)
I think you can envelop the keypad with 3m sheet.
EVERYTHING'S GONE
I've had both, currently using a white. I recommend the white![]()
