Why so many apps "not compatible with the LG Optimus"

Recently I came across many apps which stated up front that they are "not compatible with the LG Optimus". Why is that? What's wrong with Optimus?

    Example: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-...?query=optimus

    hey(:
I'm sure any app on the Android Market is compatible with the Optimus... I had the Optimus for about a year and never came across that problem... really hope I helped!(:

I've started noticing this more and more. I never experienced it on my old Optimus S, and even on my Galaxy Nexus now, I see some apps that I'd assume should run fine say not compatible. Maybe developers can now exclude devices specifically or make a white list of only approved phones?

Why so many apps "not compatible with the LG Optimus"

Developers doing that sounds a bit shady.

I'm very curious if the op can place a link to a handful of apps experiencing this and wondered if nexus 4 was compatible; if so then that wouldn't make too much sense.
