    Corporate discount

I currently have a discount through my company and our company shrank in size because we split into 3 small companies. We were sent a corporate communication saying we need to re-sign up for the discount by 4/1 which unfortunately dropped 2%.

Anyone know if Verizon will remove my current discount if i do nothing? i don't want to lose my data discount i currently still have.

Depends on what your company agreed to. Talk to the person that signed the contract.

Do nothing. Worse case scenario you sign up for the discount if an when they remove it. Most likely they signed a new discount agreement under a different company name. I'm sure the business rep will be lazy and not bother canceling their current contract discount under the other name.

I'm not sure who signed it but could probably find out. I think it's more about how vzw handles the co name and contract change. I think it might be worth doing nothing for now. Just wasn't sure if it would work.

Do nothing. Chances are you won't lose your discount. My friend is still utilizing the discount he got from his former employer from 9 years, and three employers ago.

Also, does signing up for corp discount extend contract date?

    No, it doesn't.
And normally I would agree with the other posters who said do nothing. However, Verizon has changed the minimum requirement for receiving a data discount. I believe you need to have a minimum of a $50 data plan to get a corporate data discount (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this). I still have a data discount on my $30 data plan only because I'm grandfathered in. If you don't "re-sign up for the discount by 4/1" and they drop your data discount and your data plan is below $50 my bet is that you'll never get your data discount back again. I could be wrong but that's my guess.

It is 50 or higher but grandfathered unlimited data for 29 and unlimited data for 44 (w/ corp email still get the discount.

I'm still getting the data discount on my $30 plan. My thoughts are that doing nothing my current 19% voice & 20% data discount may disappear. Worst case, I'll register the new discount at that point I guess.

In my view, worst case is you do nothing, lose your discount, register the new discount, and now you only have the voice discount and not the data discount because your data plan is less than $50. You might get the data discount back but I wouldn't count on it.

I think there is a difference when just one person changes companies. You are correct that VZW might not notice.

However, when an entire company changes, I am pretty sure VZW goes thru all the associated accounts and makes the required changes. I have been thru this myself, several times over the years (spin-off, mergers), and VZW always makes the change on my account, without me having to take any action. Though, the discount has always either stayed the same, or went up (never did it go down).

Unfortunately our discount went down because we sold one division and split the other 2 off into smaller companies because some large investor pushed the idea. So our new company has less phones with them resulting in a lower discount. Our new discount doesn't even mention data at all.

Over the years, we went from a company of 10,000 to a company of 400. And our discount is higher now. I don't know what goes into VZW's formula for calculating discount, but it seems to be more than simply company size.

Did you work for a construction company? There are buying associations companies can join to get better discounts. My dad's company only has 50 employees but they get a 22% discount because of a buying association they joined.
