SMS outage?

My text messages seem to be sending fine (meaning no failed sending errors), but I have yet to receive a message all day. I'm not even sure if my texts have been reaching their recipients

. I only discovered that this was a major problem when I saw that the Virgin Mobile USA Facebook page posted a status about the outage. I thought it was just an unpopular day and that no one was messaging me

I have started to receive messages again that I was supposed to receive this morning. Still no response from auto responding texts though (banking etc).

Just a few minutes after posting this, I got one text from my wife. I need to see what time she sent it (if it's now or from earlier in the day).

This is typically what happens when this has happened in the past. You will get all of the texts you missed through out the day in a short period of time.

Just got back with VM after a few years....ahh.....outages! Just like old times!

Same in Seattle. Someone sent me a text at 830 and came through at 455.

Some people on the FB posting are saying VM gave them $5 credit after the first time this happened. Not sure what use this will be for those people who buy prepaid cards in bigger increments.

I've been having delayed messages all day. Some of these delays are 8-10 hours. Ridiculous!

I'm quite used to VM's data service sucking the big one, but now SMS?!?!

I'll have to reassess whether $25/month is a good value considering most of their services have become undependable. It's nearly a joke.

outside of Philadelphia and text delay all day.it seems to be getting better as of an hour ago

I've been with VM for 6 years now and I've had this text message issue happen about once or twice a year every year for the past few years. I wouldn't say that no texting for a day is that big of an issue because if it really is an emergency they should be calling me anyways.

I have been with most of the major companies over the past 10+ years. I was with vm around the rumor touch to Intercept time and had lots of text problems...data problems along with terrible customer service. I just got back with vm exactly 1 month ago today. From the second I signed up I had problems.

I paid via paypal and for some reason it did not show up on vm's end. 2 days with a total of 2+ hours of talking to overseas monkeys who constantly lied and feed me bs stories had me mad enough. Then after demanding to talk to the highest in charge and have him finally start my service after paypal assured him I paid but basically not believing me that I paid had me like a rabid animal.

Then I got hosed out of the kickback code I entered and had to fight a week via emails and phone call. Now this! Plus vm's data is horrible and the plan went up $10. I have no choice now but to go next month with vm since I need a phone, but I am getting my t mobile samsung vibrant out and going to straight talk byop deal. For $14 more a month and unlimited minutes.....im there. Vm is just not worth it to me. I did like this OV phone though!
