SMS outage?

Anyone having issues receiving texts today? It seems not to be working for me for at least the past few hours. I'm in South Jersey, near Philly.

yes same here. in denver. i also asked two other people who have vm here and theirs isn't working either.

This is pretty unusual though. I haven't had an issue like this in a long time. Anyone called VM about it?

It stopped for me sometime after 10pm Central time last night. I called them and their greeting said something to the effect of "if you are calling about the texting slowdown issue, we are aware of it and are working diligently to restore it". At that point I hung up, but I shot them an email on it right after. Still waiting for a reply.

I hate my phone (Rumor Touch) and have been less than pleased with VM as a provider. This incident will help push me towards my goal of graduating to an Android phone on another carrier.

seems like sms isn't working in texas either. i tried texting to/from myself using email, and texting to another number. none of which have worked.

Same here, not working on my phone in nashua, nh also not working on my better halfs phone in methuan, ma. Been this way since 9am today.

Strange. I'll test this out on my VM phone. Send a text to my TMO phone and reply to it.

NYC too; texts look as if they are sent. However, no one has been able to receive the message. I even self test by sending to a text to my google voice. It's 5:20pm eastern saving time.

Google Voice text messaging works well... The GV app.

Yet another reason to use GV.

What device are you using with VM? You should call them and request they credit your account for your text issues. Also post on their FB and Twitter pages ... They seem to provide faster response times than email.

Not sending or receiving in Tallahassee, FL. I too texted to myself as a test. The text appeared to send but was not received.

throw Las Vegas into the mix, havent worked since around 8 this morning, they were working around 7am then they started coming and going out with segments of the text missing, then they died all together
