I know this thread is a lil' old but, I did get data working on mine with the prl file "JUSMEJOSE" recommended, I only get 1x though, Don't know if it's because of where I live. But all I know is that I did what "Ultratech" posted and then after my phone rebooted, I went to Settings>Wireless & networks>Mobile Networks> and checked "data roaming" on and where it says "system select" I taped "Cricket only" instead of "automatic". I don't know if this helps, I'll try to go back to qpst to figure out if that's where the error was, because I remember I tried it once and it didn't get the data working.
I'm in the process of switching a Cricket Samsung 720 to page plus. Can someone tell me exactly how to "flash" my phone, or tell me if I really need to do it to just get talk and text? I don't care about data much because I usually use wifi.
I just need to know that I can make a freaking phone call. Cricket's service is so extremely poor where I live I can't make a call unless I walk up a steep hill behind the house, and even then it drops calls often. Verizon works well here, but I don't want to pay their prices.
Can anyone help a computer literate but non cell phone literate person get my phone set up??
Thanks Tonester. It sounds straight forward but it also says I need to download QPST which is a Windows app and I have a Mac (and no virtual Pc emulator).
Has anyone used Remote Squad? They have inexpensive prices for a full flash and do it remotely. I may have to do it that way since I've been without a working phone now for 4 days and it sucks ;-(
I don't know what to tell lol I don't really know Mac. But I really don't recommend taking it to a group of people to flash it, cuz I've heard bad things about groups that flash phones they sometimes don't return your phone. plus I don't think it's worth it because the admire doesn't cost that much and these groups will charge you alot.
Even if a group does flash your phone it won't be a full flash they'll never get 3G working believe me. It'll probably be just 1x and that you can do by yourself cuz I have 1x data on my phone.
I went ahead and used Remote Squad and now I wish I wouldnt have. They give you a $2 Page Plus credit, to test calls and text, and my phone was working fine immediately after he finished the flash. But as soon as I signed up for a plan and it became active Sunday my phone stopped being able to make calls. Its bizarre, all calls are ended as soon as dialing starts. There's also a bug so when I click on "about phone - status" my phone turns off and restarts. Very strange.
Remote Squad say they have a 7 day guarantee on flashing but I cannot get them to respond to my emails about not being able to make any calls. Right now I'd rather have a phone that works rather than my money back (it was inexpensive).
If anyone can tell me what to look for in settings in QPST or CDMA Workshop (they are still on my roommate's laptop) then please help me!! I'm in the process of looking for a job and desperately need a working phone!
that's bad, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I wish I could help you but I remember that the process I did requires a phone already programmed with page plus. You don't happen to have one do you? Because my process involved making a phone number switch with the phone, like to say your upgrading your page plus phone to another phone, and the other phone being the one you have flashed.
I have completed all steps. When I write to the phone the phone reboots. After the phone comes back up I read the configuration on the phone. The simple IP setting reverts back to the mobile IP. Therefore I cannot get the simple ip configuration to stick in the phone config.
