Samsung Galaxy S - Unable to send MMS

Got this phone last week and really like it.

I have been unable to send picture messages so I called Wind to check the settings. They are all correct. She told me that if I dont hear back from a technician in 7 days then I should call again and she gave me a reference number.

I did some research online to see if there was something I was missing. One post suggested turning off the auto retrieve in the messages settings which I did and I was able to send and receive one by sending it to myself and also I received one from my friend but the problem seems to be sending. I could only send it once then couldn't send again. So I turned auto retrieve back on as I checked all the settings on my son's phone.

I also downloaded Handcent as someone had mentioned that they did this and it solved the problem but that didn't work.

Has anyone else experience problems sending MMS?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for your response. Yes I can send one to myself. I think it has started to work. It doesn't work every time I try to send one to other people but I seem to be able to receive them now.

Hopefully it will continue to work.

Could you get someone to try to send you one to see if you can at least receive them? If not try unchecking the auto retrieve even till you try to send again.

i have a feeling that the reason its not working is because your going over the 300kb size limit.... i found that out a while ago as well.

4 years later.... still no improvement to winds data

If you have your phone set to send maximum mms file size such as 1MB, the Wind server will reject the message. On most phones (confirmed on HTC Panache, Sensation, and Amaze), setting it to 300KB (the highest setting on a Wind-branded HTC Amaze) will instantly make MMS work again. On my Telus-branded Amaze, the lowest setting is maximum size 600KB and that also works just fine.
