Well my phone has decided to cycle the power twice about a minute in to a phone call, it is getting seriously annoying. It also seems to drop calls and say it is still connected, build quality is good but that seems to be it. Damn, the button that rhymes with pew has just stopped working on my Fujitsu laptop, grrrrrr!!!
Yes as you said, the phone resets mid phone call, it doesn't always happen and doesn't seem to matter whether it is an incoming or outgoing call. It seems to happen 1-2minutes in to a call, and for some reason the phone will turn off then on twice and just start up like it normally would.
I have also had it drop a call and I thought it had turned off but looked at the phone later and said it was still connected and was on a 45minute phone call. I just checked my call records and the call was only 1minute 15seconds.
I'm not sure why it is happening but it is quite annoying.
But I have never had another phone turn itself off and restart when it loses signal, it hasn't dropped out in the last couple of days so I'll see how it goes.

I have had it happen to my phone here in Japan that I use personally, I would be mid call and if I lost reception, it would shut it self down and restart
Really? That is quite poor, hopefully ICS will be available soon, I am not sure if the auto updates work here yet I will try and manually update when I have good 3G signal.

Hmmm that might be it, but I don't know if you can manually download it.
This is so strange though, because I've sold over 100+ of these worldwide now, and no one else has reported a restart defect. Maybe it was just a certain batch of phones produced
Well you can send the phone to me , and I can run a full update at the docomo shop for you. PM me directly or email me
Still having problems with it, phone will restart now when you aren't even on a call, also is it normally a struggle to get 12hrs from a battery with minimal use?
I am hoping someone will post a link to an ICS download when released, I will root the phone and hopefully remove a lot of the bugs, I love my Fujitsu laptop, but this phone, not so much, it is just too hungry on battery and freezes or shuts down way too often.

Yes this has been very common with all my Japanese android phones... You should at the very least disable the network antennas you don't need (Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile networks), if possible.. IE if you're on 2G only, you need to select "GSM only" not "Auto" which would constantly make the phone look for WCDMA (3G) networks. Disable the LTE, for the same reason.
For the rest.. I'm not so sure.. I've never been able to squeeze long battery life out of Japanese Android phones except when I was in Canada and left one of my phones on Airplane mode. OTOH, I left my HTC One X on, connected to wifi and WCDMA, not charging, all night, and after 7 hours I'm at 96% battery. Quite a difference...
Very helpful thread, hoping the experts could comment on my situation (not to hijack this thread): Have a Fujitsu F-05D, Unlocked by DoCoMo store in Japan, phone used in Japan after being unlocked for a week, and now in Canada. Inserted MicroSIM from TELUS into phone, and will not find any network other than Rogers. Does not find Telus or Bell, both of which operate HSPA on 850mhz (which this phone has, I believe). Re-inserted active DoCoMo sim and it connects fine, in roaming mode. Once active TELUS sim goes in, there is nothing. The Telus sim works fine on other phones. Am I missing something regarding what frequency the Fujitsu operates on? Will it only work on the Rogers 2G EDGE network, and not the HSPA network used by Telus? Any advice appreciated. Thank you.
Hey defjux I have had a similar problem when trying to use the Red Bull network in Australia, the Red Bull service uses Vodafones towers but uses a different APN.
With the Red Bull Sim the F-05Dwouldn't work, from memory I couldn't save the APN as there weren't enough fields completed. Sim worked fine in another phone so I had to change providers.
What do you think of the phone? I am still pretty unimpressed with it mine.
