Can a Rogers phone be used on a chatr data plan

I just recently activated a Rogers LG phone on a chatr data plan. I was told that any Rogers phone would be okay. After leaving the store I realised that I could not connect to the Internet. When I called Chatr customer service they informed me that the phone needs to be unlocked in order for the data service to work. I took my phone to get it unlocked, the technician told me that a rogers to chatr switch does not require the phone to be unlocked and that all I had to do was change a few settings on my phone. I called back chatr all they did was direct me to the faq page on there site. Does anyone know where I can get actual instructions or at least were on the phone I need to go to apply the appropriate changes?

Google "APN" and "goam.com"

If you have no idea what I am talking about, you should use a preset Chatr phone.

or you can call them back to send you by air the settings for mms and internet
thats what i did when i switched from rogers to chatr with my sgs2

Answer to your concern is yes. I'm using a Rogers locked iPhone 4S with ChatR as my carrier. Everything works fine.

Since no-one wants to type them out..

To use chatr data and MMS, you’ll need to input a few key settings into your phone.
For chatr data:

* The data APN <Access Point Name> is chatrweb.apn

For chatr MMS settings:

* The MMS APN <Access Point Name> is chatrweb.apn
* The MMS URL is http://mms.chatrwireless.com
* The MMS IP address is 205.151.11.11
* The MMS port is 8080

Go into internet settings and apply these as necessary.
