Yea, but rep's are humans and make mistakes or don't know. I am sure there is something in the TOS that when you change a feature it can affect everything else.
I remember a few years ago Verizon Landline division changed VM platforms and erased a man's deceased wife's VM greeting, of course he was upset and reached out to the news, not a lawsuit I believe and Verizon was able to actually restore the greeting from the old platform. I just can't believe T-Mobile doesn't have that capability.
Not really a "blanket statement" considering the app advertises to the end user it has the feature to save VM's, so yet again here T-Mobile covered themselves from idiots like this one who wants to be unaccountable for his own actions. Like i said i've swapped between the voicemail to text and regular voicemail and have never lost any messages, so yes in my experiences with T-Mobile in both the app advertising it can save messages to mp3 and email them and the fact that i and many other T-Mobile users have been able to keep voicemail messages when trying the voicemail to text and going back tells me something is wrong on the users end.
if the OP upgraded to the VM to Text feature then he had Visual VoiceMail, since it's the only way to get it.

For those who say that the father should have saved the voice mail because it is important to him:
You are missing the point. What's more important is that it is a voice mail. One that he can retrieve just like any other voice mail from his cell phone. That gives him a feeling that his daughter is still with him.
Which family do not have some video recording of their kids? If he just want memories, he could have just access his family videos.
I bet he filed a lawsuit not because he really want to sue T-Mobile but he feel that he is doing something for his daughter.
Ok but still all he did was upgrade to the new feature. Somewhere along the upgrade the messages got deleted, and this person claims that he did not erase them himself. Maybe the rep who upgraded his feature accidentally erased it? Reset the voicemail, etc? I don't think it's out the question that Tmobile could of very well deleted the messages.
