Don't know about the T-mobile side, but I'm averaging 3mbps or so with the AT&T SIM. Even with poor signal, it's rare to see less than 800kbps.

OK, long story short. Had T Mobile with my GF who is now my ex & I kept my phone (Samsung Vibrant 3G version) & sent her Sim card back.
Went with VM $35 monthly plan (300 min / Unlimited Text & data) had it before when it was $25 and it seems like it got a LOT worse. Data is so slow & I can not even connect in certain areas of my house plus i had crappy customer service! It took aver 2 hours on the phone till I could even start my plan! That alone had me want to leave VM!
So I was told about Straight Talk BYOP. $15 for a TM sim card & I can use my Vibrant. Unlimited Minutes & text & 2.5 GB a month for $45 + taxes. (comes to $48.70) I also heard if you go over 2.5 GB they cut you off sometimes & your done!
Was all set to do that then I though what about TM monthly?
The $30 plans would not cut it for me. I need over 100 minutes & the other hardly has any data.
So I looked at the $50 unlimited everything plan.
I can go there...have my VM number switched to TM get the sim card for free & pay $53 for the first start of service. Then go to callingmart.com & with discounts pay $47.77 a month after, BUT......TM throttles you to edge speeds of 200kbps!
So I was wondering what speeds TM Sim card users are getting on Straight Talk and is there anything else good or bad to report?
PS... I have a Samsung Vibrant 3G version
Thank You!

Samsung Galaxy Nexus: 4.2.2 rooted with ST AT&T SIM & full Google Voice integration
WOW! That would be great if the T-Mobile was around that!
If anything, the T-mobile side should be a bit faster due to less loading than the AT&T network.
well.....it sounds like ST is the way to go over TM then.
Here is my speed test result from my GNex on the Tmobile byod.

Does anyone know if the T-mobile SIM works off the I-Wireless towers in Iowa? (I-Wireless is a T-mobile affiliate)

Choose T-Mobile SIM, then punch in an I-Wireless covered zip code.
I've heard yes from others, but that above is a sure fire way to check

Anyone here know if T-Mobile's data on Straight Talk is routed via one server only, or do you guys get access to more servers? I know that the data here on ST on AT&T is routed via a Chicago server only.

Another user on here mentioned last week they were not able to "roam" on iwireless (that's a loose term as iwireless is essentially T-Mobile with whom ST has agreements) but I personally have been able to roam on iwireless in several locations...including with data, which was a surprise to me.
I was with T-Mobile not long ago. Will it be about the same as far as coverage?
Thank you everyone for the help.

I'm going to buy a T-Mobile branded phone from walmart. Can I use the sim card that comes with it if I buy the plan from straighttalk? Or do I have to buy the sim card from straighttalksim.com as well?
