I am self employed and rent a small office space. CenturyLink is the local telco, and their business plans don't suit me. I make a lot of long distance calls, and the cheapest plan they have with unlimited long distance is about $75 a month after taxes.
I want to use my cell phone instead, but I need both hands free to take notes. So I'm looking for a headset with very good audio quality. I've just about given up on Bluetooth because I've used several different ones and people have complained about static or say it sounds like I'm talking from a well. There's also a bit of traffic noise from the road outside, so I figured a corded headset with a noise cancelling microphone would be better.
Portability and looks are not important, since I will only be using it in my office. I don't want the ear bud type. I want something with a flexible microphone boom so I can position it for the best reception. Bonus if I can use it with an adapter on my PC for voice recognition.
You must have only tried the tiny bluetooth headsets since there is a boom based bluetooth headset made by parrot that has reviews on amazon.com from truckers who have no trouble being heard in their loud big rig.
If you do insist on a corded headset then there is the boom model O.
More info will be provided once I get to a computer since am writing this on tapatalk and no option of inserting hyperlinks.
Update: alright so here is the link for the blueparrot headset from amazon.com
If you want 'the boom' headset it's official website is here but the only con is the Model O is out of stock but the Model W which is bluetooth is available
Then here is the thread with Audio Test Clips where you would find test clips of various bluetooth headsets and a few of the boom headset

Reason: links added
I have tried the BlueParrott headset, but it didn't work for me. I got crackling and popping every time I turned my head. I suppose I could have gotten a defective unit.
Don't laugh. Everybody I've turned on to these headsets say these are the best you can get under $50. They're $8 in this link. I bought 4 pr when they were $3-$4 a set.
