Samsung Dart T499 Unlocking to Go Out of Country, Advice on Bands

Hello,

I work at a pawnshop, and had a spanish gentleman come in who wanted to send his Dart to Cuba.

He wanted me to unlock it, but the unlock codes cost $24.95, or at least the cheapest I could find.

Cuba's main wireless provider(cubacel I belive) uses a GSM 900 Band.

The Dart should support a 900 band, as per this website:

If I unlock this, this will be compatible correct? Or, because it supports the same band, is an unlock needed?

The Dart can be unlocked for free, simply and easily for anyone with moderate technical skills, so long as it is rooted. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1335548 for complete details. (If you don't know how to root the phone, see http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/root-an...peroneclick-2/ for simple instructions to use One-Click.) So long as the Dart is over 90-days old, you can also get the unlock code from T-Mo, although why you would when you can unlock it immediately is beyond me.

And yes, I unlocked mine using those instructions within 24-hours of owning it, and now use it with both an AT&T post-pay SIM card and occasionally the T-Mobile pre-pay SIM card.

I will definitely review the links though, as I get many Darts in(not sure why), which Spanish families like to send back home.

I would be much happier passing along an unlock fee of only $10 for my time and effort, as opposed to the outrageous price of $25 just to get a code. Thank you so much!!
