Galaxy Nexus too many texts lag

I have over 6000 texts with someone on my galaxy nexus.
Now whenever i try to reply or open up the text page with them it lags real hard and i cant even scroll.
i dont know if anyone else is having this problem

is there a way to archive them or save them for later to reduce the lag? because i cant find the option. i really dont want to delete any of the texts.

    thank you

I would expect for google by android 4.0 to realize that not every single text has to be loaded when having a conversation. This is something that apple had right since the beginning to only display the most recent txts and allow the user to load more if neccessary

As for backing them up well for my iphone all of the txts were contained in a database file hopefully it is similar for android.

LMAO! Man, you expect way too much from a device. 6000 texts in a convo?!

There are apps that back them up. Look on the market, err, Play or WTFE it's called now.

That's what happens when you have unlimited text messaging :P

I guess that's my only option, i'll have to look into market

Yes, there are many apps on the marketplace that will archive your texts. I highly recommend that you do so, just for safe keeping. Have you tried another text app like chompsms or anything else? Perhaps one of those apps handles larger threads better.
