I am guessing it means "Bring Your Own Device", as in someone who buys a phone from a source outside of At&t sales channels and activates it on the At&t network. Most folks who don't already have an active account would need a new SIM in that example.
If I'm annoyed and you're annoyed, does that make us a paranoid ??

I doubt it. Crowded area is going to have reception issues unless it was properly engineered. Even then I was at a non-playoff basketball game not too long ago and there was great reception, but data access was problematic. Like 5 minutes to load a website after having to retry multiple times.

Straight Talk is prepaid and their sims use t-mobile or AT&T service

It's essentially the exact same service as AT&T with some limitations

BYOD means bring your own device

I had bought an E71 and swapped the sim out to an android but i'm going legit to see if it solves the edge problem i wasnt having before..

Try Midtown Manhattan. The half of the time that you're lucky and getting data, it's running at <150kbps. What I don't understand is why it's so bad. I would think that because it's so bad, people down there would switch to Verizon, and as a result, the network would get better.
I usually support government regulation, but It is unfortunate that the government over-regulated and killed the AT&T/ T-Mobile Merger
The best explanation of the pricing nutiness in the industry.
Why Sprint and T-Mo will always suck.
The only way to end the pricing insanity is to eliminate contracts and subsidies.
I want Wifi calling on AT&T.
If you text while driving, you're an idiot. End of story.
