All Good things come to an End

We all known Wind's outsourced call centre customer service is bad but atleast they had a 24 hours a day call center, which has come to an End now. Now they are open till 10pm local time.

The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband.

Do you have a source for this? I just called 611 to see and they answered telling me Canadian call centres are taking calls from 9a.m. to 1a.m. EST. Level 1 call centres are open 24 hours accepting overflow and calls outside that time window.

^Try calling when its past 10pm Vancouver Time, I don't have a source, I am just going by personal experience. I called Saturday Night 11.30pm Vancouver Time and it was closed. I can't recall the opening time but closing time was 10pm from the recording I heard.

You know things aren't good when you can't even keep an overseas Carl venge open 24/7. Sign of things to come?

The Big 3 dont have 24 hour operations. They are just reducing their overhead costs....its not cost effective to keep a call center operation open at 1AM regardless of the labour rate. There are other costs associated with maintaining the systems as well.

I don't see a point to keep call centre open 24/7 except for network support, like fido use to have back in the day v

Maybe 22 hours a day then? If we expect call centres open until 1AM as suggested above, then 1AM in Vancouver would be 4AM in Toronto, expecting a call centre to be there at 6AM or even 8AM open we're talking about 2-4 hours max down time a day. The time zones in a nationwide provider almost force an expected 24hour service clock.

This could actually be a good thing. I would hate calling overnight and be unable to escalate the call back to Canada since no one was working.

I doubt that Wind's change in hours to close at 10pm will affect many users. When you call late at night, the suggested solution to all probems is to just reboot your phone. This change is nothing but a cost savings measure. Besides, the best customer service from a cell phone company happens when you never have to call them.

I agree about the labor rate idea BUT we are talking about CAN$ here 1 CAD = 6.11 EGP or 1 CAD is 51.91 INR or 1 CAD = 43.19 PHP or 1CAD is 74.17 DZD and the labor rates are far lower than those numbers. SO it does not really make sense.
Less service, for less signal for less money. For a Canadian company they would make a killing with this rate!

    They are Canadian right?

EGP Egyptian Pound, INR is Indian Rupee , PHP is Philippine Peso and DZD Algerian Dinar
