In any city that Mobi has service for the same coverage area WIND has almost double the number of towers.

More, does not mean "better". Wind still has random clicking noises and random robotic noises. Mobi doesnt. Mobi phones work with even 1 bar. Wind phones dont.

It would be nice, as someone else mentioned, if we got official word from Mobi that the incoming text roaming charges are dropped for customers with older plans.

    Thanks in advance Mobi.

I am near the US Border and I frequently travel to the US, even before the official announcement I was NOT getting charged for incoming text. I did get charged before but with in the last ten or so days I didn't not get charged. I was actually surprised that I didn't get charged.

    From the Mobilicity Press Release:

Free incoming text messages are now also included on all its plans while roaming.
Doesn't get much more official than that. Or clear.

I don't understand why so much doubt has been expressed on this.
In the AWS/cellular context, TAFL is Industry Canada's list of all base stations in operation, as submitted by the spectrum licensee the month prior.

The underlying database is Industry Canada's Assignment and Licensing System (ALS)
A subset of the ALS is published monthly as the Technical and Administrative Frequency Lists (TAFL)
Real-time access to the AWS/cellular data of ALS is provided by Spectrum Direct's (SD) Geographical Area Search

Because people have been asking for it for so long they were convinced it was too good to be true now that it has happened?

I suspect that roll over minutes will be a loss to their business. The model probably takes into account that people wont use all their roaming minutes every month.

Well, we have got roaming minutes now, lets not push it further . We dont want mobi to go bankrupt!

Not really, if they only keep rolling minutes in the $55 plan with phone protection. It would be a good move to increase their ARPU.

    Line 1: MMo45 for $30/M
    Line 2: Wish40 for $35/M
    Line 3: Wish40 for $35/M
    Line 4: Wish40 for $35/M

Yeah I know what you're talking about. A friend on wind sounds like a robot sometimes when she talks and it's impossible to understand

My friend is on wind. He lives outside the mobi zone. Wind can be very good at times but more often than not these problems happen.

I wonder if it's possible that Mobilicity (and WIND) can lower data roaming rates any further. WIND recently slashed theirs down to $1/MB (from $4/MB. lol). Mobilicity slashed theirs down to $1.50/MB from $5/MB last summer.

I would be interested in knowing just how much Rogers is charging these guys for data. For WIND to drop the rate by 75% and Mobilicity 70% suggests that they had a high mark-up on data at one point. Or Rogers all of a sudden decided to be more generous to them? lol.

I guess we've confirmed the incoming text questions, but as for voice roaming:

    http://twitter.com/#!/mobilicity/sta...45371801686016

    Question asked:
@mobilicity do the new roaming voice plans apply to existing customers as well or only for people that sign up to new plans?

REPLY: They only apply for the new plans. Thank you for your question!

that was a no brain-er, but good confirmation nonetheless!
Managed to get Mobilicity to act and improve on 4 items.
