Although you wont be able to buy or activate a Cricket iPhone in AWS markets, it's my understanding that Cricket's iPhone will roam on Sprint at no extra charge in Cricket AWS markets. I believe only 1xRTT (2G) data is available when roaming on Sprint.
It's not available for activation in AWS markets so why should it roam for free off Sprint in AWS markets?
Metro has roaming deal with Sprint too, but in Metro's AWS markets the "Sprint" signal doesn't kick in on flashed CDMA phones. You are just out of luck in New York and Philly. Phone just doesn't work. The way the article reads, that's the same situation for Cricket.
Cricket has a rule that if 50% of your phone use is "roaming" they have a right to cancel your account. Metro has similar rule too. Most of your use has to be in "home" market.
From a Cricket dealer/employee, Daniel885:
I would be careful about that. If you buy an iPhone in a PCS market but you live in an AWS market, keep in mind, the iPhone will not work on Cricket's towers because there is no AWS support. It will be using a roaming partner. If 50% of your usage is off-network, Cricket may choose to restrict your access to the nationwide roaming network leaving you with no coverage.
Your creed may be interesting, but your deeds are much more convincing.

The Iphone like the Blackberry 9350 is only sold in Cricket markets like Buffalo NY which only have 1900 mhz and no AWS coverage. They do not roam at all in native Cricket AWS markets like Philly and you cant buy one there either.Period.Buy it on Ebay and it makes a nice door stop.
Look meteo won't get a phone or try & sell It 4 over $500 they r a prepaid company. They made money on the fact they built It from the ground up. While u maybe able 2 get a I-phone look what ur paying $500 or $600, keep n mind there's a new 1 coming out soon!! So If that's the case y not Flat out pay 4,ur phone then pay ur monthly service fees!! "JUST SAYING"

Metro needs more than just 10% of their customers to be willing to spend more than the magic number $400 to consider bringing in more high end quality phones. so just cuz you and a few other members in this forum would be willing to burn $500-$600 for a new phone still isnt enough for metro to consider it.
What's up Brother n4zty ur rite I mean we bought the Esteem not even a yeat ago 4 $350 how much u think Its worth now?

You change your phones probaly more than you change your underwears........stick to something and learn to use it well you should join us at the androidforums if u havnt yet and learn how to mod your phone and install custom roms to it. trust me the real experience of having a android phone is much more than installing apps on it, its modifying it and making it do what you want it to do. check it out the Lg connect subforum out http://androidforums.com/lg-connect-4g/

So do you guys think that the LG Connect is still a good choice to buy, seems to be $249 brand new and I need to retire my old Optimus M which is still kicking but it's almost on its last leg ... or should I wait for either the Tmobile acquisition or another price drop ?

I will say wait there are some phones coming out soon at least we think but the connect is a big step up from the optimus
A good choice is a form of opinion now with that being said its up to u to decide what u need and what u dont need. If your asking me to compare the pros and cons of the Lg connect and the Lg esteem and see which one is better for you theres only a few factors that need to be compared. First of all i have the Lg esteem i love the phone never had a single prob i have the 3000mah extended battery it easily last two days without charge, now the first comparison you would have to decide if it matters to you is the screen size 4.3 inch for the Lg esteem or 4 inch even for the Lg connect ? to me this isnt much to compare 3 cm difference. dual core 1.2ghz processor with the Lg connect compared to 1ghz processor with the Lg esteem? Again think about what apps you use and do you consider them cpu hogs meaning they use alot of your processor performance, are they any apps on the market that do use alot of cpu? for now there are high end games comming out that do use cpu along with the integrated graphics quite a bit. so if ur a hardcore mobile gamer and want a full experience i would go with the Lg connect. Now also the Lg connect has more ram also 1ghz compared to the 512 of ram of the Lg esteem. now for me an important advantage that the Lg connect has is the cat 3 uicc card that gives it the ability to talk and use data at the same time, i was bummed out that the esteem didnt have it ..... but im happy that i can plug my phone to my hdtv and play games on my screen or stream netflix as well but yea thats pretty much in my opinion things you should consider i wont tell you the esteem is the best phone, what im telling you is decide in what you really want and make a choice. anyways either way Lg made two great phones and i know either way you go you will be happy.
I'm just wondering when is metro coming out with an ice cream sandwich android phone? Seriously metro has zero Ics phones, and google is about to release 4.1 jellybean in about a week or so. smh.
