What I don't understand is why there was two days difference between he high usage warning and shutoff notice. As far as I knew, correct me if I'm wrong, after the high usage warning you get throttled. How much more data can you use on throttled Internet in two days time and still be considered using too much data??

Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk
    Update:

Speeds were throttled to 120 Kbps the moment I hit the 2GB mark.
When I hit the 2.5GB mark - I received the following message:
"Your Simple Mobile Data service is at risk of being suspended due to violation of terms and conditions. Call 800 219 9702 for additional information."

They definitely have a system in effect that does it automatically from their end.
I got 3 days left so I will keep using it until I get the suspend message and confirm at exactly what amount of data used they shut me off.

Yes you will be banned and your service will be suspended no matter how long ago your account has been on the system, every carrier have a data cap, but usually they dont advertise it. We see this happen with few users before.

Simple Mobile doesn't ban customers, they simply suspend data.
With that said, I don't know how I'm not suspended yet as I've just surpassed the 3.5GB mark...maybe their system doesn't catch you on the weekends.

I just activated a T-Mobile monthly 4G plan and ran several speedtests and for anyone who read my prior posts about Simple Mobile possibly throttling their 4G plans, I'd like to correct what I stated and set the record straight that the speeds on the 4G plans between Simple Mobile & T-Mobile are the same exact thing based on a bunch of speed tests I just ran with the new T-Mobile sim card.

WiFi calling & premium texting are both working on T-Mobile, whereas they didn't work on Simple Mobile.

So it's all up to what someone prefers between the two -
T-Mobile: WiFi Calling, Premium Texting (for Short Code Messages), Roaming, Unlimited 120 Kbps after the 2GB is passed without suspensions, more plan choices, better customer service, more options from dealing directly with the Big Carrier.
Simple Mobile: International Texting, $5 of International Calling (lot of minutes because their rates are cheap), lenient data limits before suspension (3GB+ but isn't unlimited as advertised).

That's how much usage I ended up with on the last day of the cycle right at the point when I ported over to T-Mobile.
I got a warning text at the 2.5GB mark but never got the data suspended thereafter...I ended up racking close to another 2GB and the data kept working fine until the port took place.

I had a really bad experience with T-Mobile today...their customer service is so bad that it makes Simple Mobile customer service the best thing ever. At least Simple Mobile has American English speaking reps and not these Filipino's that have no clue about anything.
I had to send 2 port requests because the 1st agent I spoke to put the pin # or something else incorrectly, it was pretty pathetic and no one contacted me to tell me the port was declined.

On my temporary # before the port, I had started the account with the $70 plan and when my # was finally ported over, someone took it out of their own liberty to put through the $60 plan, basically as if I was walking around in Manila with $10 half way out of my pocket and some thief decides to grab it...obviously I would realize it and call back. Took me close to an hour to explain to the moron that the pin I used was for $70 and he finally adjusted it. They are the biggest idiots ever. I had Simple Mobile for 2 months and have had no problems at all!!! Their $60 plan is great for what it is considering you don't necessarily need the UMA (wifi calling) which is only good for going on a cruise, some other country, or in bad signal areas. I don't need the roaming, but do need the premium texting which Simple Moblie doesn't provide. I been with 8 different carriers and I must admit that T-Mobile has the worst My Account page I have ever seen, whoever made it is a moron. My old postpaid Sprint or AT&T My Account sections were so easy to use...T-Mobile really F'ed up on this one big time...I regret registering - total waste.

Try to use the WiFi more on Simple Mobile network to avoid getting a data shut off for excessive use. Data steaming is very intense and can cause your account to be flagged.

I thought it used to be 2.5GB but I could be wrong. There is a delay from the time you go over your limit and they warn/cut you off. That is why numbers might not seem consistent.

Leaving Pandora on 7/24, etc is considered abusive. If you consistently get cut off for being an abuser there is a good chance they will kill your sim.
