    Monkey boy it's the truth.

By the time you figure out what you want, a new and better Droid phone will be out. Droid phones are multiplying like rabbits. Even if you got the newest and best that comes out in a few months, I guarantee an even newer and better one will be out within a few months of that. Look at those that bought the Droid Razr....then a few months later the Droid Razr Maxx came out. They were not happy campers since most people didn't know it was on the horizon. Many said had they known it was coming they would have waited for it.

If you keep waiting for the newest and best I guarantee you'll never be satisfied. You can deliberate and decide till you're blue in the face. That won't change things. And the newest and best today doesn't mean it will hold that same status 2 months later for most Droid phones. The fact the Rezound can 6 months later is a testament to it.

If you waited for the Rezound 2 to come out, then 2 months later the Rezound 2 X-Treme came out with a better battery, more storage and a better screen resolution and better camera with internal waterproofing....would you still be happy especially if it sold for the same price as the Rezound 2 you bought? And especially if you didn't know it was coming? Could you still say you deliberated and made a good decision or would you kick yourself for not waiting longer.

You are way too busy overanalyzing. The fact the Rezound is still considered by many after 6 months to be one of the best top of the line Droid phones on Verizon still doesn't seem to phase you.

So go ahead. Keep waiting. Keep over analyzing. Because I guarantee you that any phone you are looking at now or that is coming, has an even better Droid phone coming a short time after. Even weeks after. And that top of the line phone you get now like I said earlier in 2-3 months will already be old school and Verizon will be getting ready to ditch.

You came here asking for advice, people gave it to you, and you still don't want to listen.

If you already knew the answer to your question then why did you ask? So go ahead and keep perpetually waiting. You only have you to blame then if you choose a crappy phone and will get no sympathy from those here that you asked advice from but didn't listen to.

So keep waiting. Cause in the Droid world, waiting will put you in the back of the line quickly.

First off, I have been primarily a Motorola man since my first bag cell. Strayed and went with a BB Storm and hated it! Been with the DROID since they started popping and last year got the X2 when my Droid X got wet and it was actually cheaper to get one for one of my four lines and one for my daughter than use my insurance....

Having said that, I am on my fifth or sixth X2 and my NE2 is available ($50 off) and I am on the fence about what to do.

In the last week they raised the price for the Razor Max( my favorite) and I have yet to find anywhere on this forum or anywhere that will provide even a slight projection of what might be available in the next couple of weeks or month.

Again, I like Motorola and require my cell to be my gateway for the world on the internet, take pictures, and get great reception wherever I am. I am out in the boonies quite a bit and require being able get online and correspond as needed. This X2 sucks at web browsing (very slow to load) and the battery drains quickly. The Razer Max looks like I could come to love it but I ain't paying $250-300 for that privilege!

***** over and look forward to feedback.

Nothing wrong with that. You gotta do what's best for you. Be sure you know the expiration date on the deal; someone said the 9th but you can doublecheck with vzw.

I doubt anything in the next month. You should at least check out the Bionic; its a good deal, too and I'm happy with mine.

You know how many people I deal with on a weekly basis that complain that they didn't know (like the Razr Maxx) that a new Droid phone was coming and would have waited if they had known. Of course this is anywhere from 1-3 months after they got the phone they have, deliberated and thought about it, then went with it and are now unhappy.

I see more complaints about the lower end Droid phones than the top of the line ones. People want a Droid phone, don't want to pay the higher price for a better Droid phone, then whine and complain because now they are stuck with their well thought out crappy phone that they wanted because they didn't want to pay more for a better Droid phone. But of course they feel the $20 Droid phone should be as awesome as the $200 phone.

I see it on these forums too people complaining because they just bought this awesome new Droid phone 3 weeks ago, and now this even better Droid phone is coming out for the same price and had they known it was coming, they would have waited for it. Then they start trying to find ways to ditch their now 'inferior' phone so they can get this 'better' phone.

Like I said before, spend too much time trying to decide on the Droid phone you want, and chances are by the time you do decide you'll be left in the dust and past your 14 day return policy. I see it way too often. For what you are getting for the cost and how it compares to other Droid phones right now with what it offers, the Rezound is an excellent choice and steal.

    @zettler1 & Gorilla

Either there isn't much in the pipeline atm, or somebody tightened the 'leak'-y faucet.

The future holds far fewer phones with both removable batteries and SD Slots. The Rezound has performance to rival anything out there and anything on the horizon right now. With an unlockable bootloader to boot. It even has SVDO!

And all that comes, this week, at a bargain-basement price. You're just not going to beat that deal any time soon.

If you don't crave a 5" display or have grandfathered unlimited data you want to use on a tablet, and if you are OK without a keyboard -- then the Rezound is a great opportunity. Answer the door.

    TC et al,

Thank you all for your insight and comments. Let me add a little more background to better capture my dilemma(s).

Yes, I like Motorola's and have for some time. Never been enamored with Samsung, LG, etc., and know nothing about the build of HTC. I am hard on my cell and use it everyday for most everything ALL day long. On the internet somedays more with the cell that the home PC. I have several batteries for the X2 as I can go through them easily - and you can buy them for under $5!

I am in the outdoors quite a bit and try to take precautions but will use it for internet, GPS, texting, you name it as its my lifeline out there.

Right now we have four lines for three people. I got the fourth line years ago so there would always be a phone at home in the living room so my kids could hear one ring and answer it when I needed to reach them. My daughter also has a X2 and a grandfathered data plan as do I . My son uses his sisters old Envy Touch and has been talking about needing a better cell, one with a data plan...

That brings me to a major issue, I currently pay around $230/month for what we have and I cannot see any way to reduce this and I might just be stuck and have to increase my monthly bill to $260 in order to satisfy my son. Of the four lines there are two with data and I have one line that can upgrade at a discount in addition to my own NE2. The other two lines are not available for discount until next March...

To justify this I want to make sure I have the best smartphone for my purposes that I can afford as I will have to live with it for some time.

Now before this deal came out, I had heard good things about the Resound and then I saw the Max. As its a Motorola, I favor it. I also hear there is possibly of a new Motorola coming out soon maybe even in the next couple of weeks which interests me. And as I have been on these forums a long time, I was use to reading about all the upcoming Cells but am not seeing that now. I can always wait to upgrade my NE2 but if there isn't much in the pipeline maybe now is a good time to jump in. And if this is such a good deal, maybe I ought to use the other upgrade /discount line to replace my daughter's X2 which she hates and give my son the good X2 (I just received my seventh X2 since July)...

There I have expressed as much as I can using this dam little screen on my X2! I can't even see some of what I wrote so forgive me ...

PS. Sorry for the thread hijack but its been a great discussion and hope I added to it.

The 'rumored' D4G MAXX, probably in Q3, in addition to the 3.3 amp RAZR MAXX battery, should also have a larger higher-res display, global ability, ICS, and possibly processor improvements, as well -- all speculative, of course.
Btw, all the non-removable battery models are 'moisture-resistant'. Had to be; if they short, in extreme cases, they could blow up. In your case, even with the 3.3amps, you may also need a pocket power cell to keep up with hard use all day away from power sources.

Get the Rezound, 'while the gettin's good'. Use it til summer when the QWERTY D4G MAXX materializes. Give your daughter the Rezound and pass down the X2 to your son at that time when you get your D4G MAXX with 4.6" display and slide QWERTY keyboard.

    You're killing me! LOL

I was just about committed to buy two Resounds - one for my daughter and the other for me and use the two $50 4G upgrade credits and my NE2 $50 credit to pay for them, get two extended batteries and give my son the X2!

    That is until your post...

Now I have think about it and I only have until Monday to decide!!!

    lol

If you don't touch type, get the 2 Rezounds. Sounded to me, though, like you really want a QWERTY.

Edit: the D4G MAXX will not be such a deal, QWERTY is it's only draw.

No. Its the bigger screens that interest me and reception as I am use to touch screens now....just not the spell checkers!

If you want a 5" you could wait til vzw picks up the Galaxy Note -- which it will call "Journal". Another great phone. But Samsung does typically have reception issues.

If you don't need QWERTY, better jump on the Rezound with both feet.

No wonder! No one helps with the bill? Big problem, imo. Upgrade time would be a good time to fix that.

Two suggestions: being outdoors, power and the screen matter. When you are at the store, take them outside to compare screens. Make sure auto brightness is on or use max. Like I said, Bionic is on special @ $99 online.

I upgraded my wifes Dinc to the Rez and she couldn't be happier. $50 was a no brainer for someone that doesn't check specs and future phones, etc. She said she was fine with the Dinc, just wanted a new battery.
